ISTITUTO DI SPIRITUALITàSEMINARISS1095The pedagogy and Challenges of priestly and Religiousformation (5 ECTS)charles serraoJustification: the task of forming the candidates for priestly and religiouslife is rather a complex one in this technological, materialistic and globalizingworld. formation is a process in which exploration – the charisma ofthe institution and of the individual takes place. it is a lifelong process andpart of painful purification. this seminar gives the basic guidelines to theformators basing on church documents, especially Pastores Dabo Vobis(1992), Vita Consecrata (1996), instruction concerning the criteria for thediscernment of vocations with regard to persons with homosexual tendenciesin view of their admission to the seminary and to the holy orders(2005), guidelines for the use of Psychology in the admission and formationof the candidates for the Priesthood (2008).Objectives: give a general introduction to formation, highlight real issuesconcerning the topic, propose some guidelines to discern the religious vocationin the candidates and challenges the formators for this task.Content: importance of formation in today’s society; teaching of thechurch on formation; human, christian, religious, intellectual, cultural,inter-cultural, communication, communitarian and sexual formation.Methodology: some initial lessons, written work, presentation, discussionand active participation.Criteria for evaluation: attendance to the lessons, capacity to develop atheme and presentation, systematic methodology.Bibliography: raVaglioli a.M., Psicologia.
