rob and sin, and strip men naked, and acquire wealth and see
good days. 10. Have ye seen the righteous how their end falls
out, that no manner of violence is found in them till their
death ? 11. " Nevertheless they perished and became as though
they had not been, and their spirits descended into Sheol in
tribulation.^'

fashioned by material and temporal
aims only, and so all their desires iind
satisfaction in this world ; but the life
of the righteous, as is manifest from
first to last, is moulded by spiritual and

How their end falls out (a). ' how
their end is peace '- Again, as in
ver. 5, the author concedes that there
is no outward distinction between the
righteous and the wicked in this life, but
that there is a religious and ethical dis-

their death '. 11. The wicked rejoin
this difference in character is of no advantage—
the same lot awaits good and bad
