1. Click the ‘New Connection’ link in the ‘Network Connections’ screen (see Figure 6.11). The
‘Connection Wizard’ screen appears (see Figure 6.12).
2. Select the ‘Internet Connection’ radio button and click ‘Next’. The ‘Internet Connection’
screen appears (see Figure 6.13).
3. Select the ‘External Cable Modem’ radio button (this option is for both internal and external
cable modems) and click ‘Next’. The ‘Internet Cable Modem Connection’ screen appears.

4. Select the ‘Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) with the ‘User Name and Password
Authentication’ radio button and click ‘Next’. The ‘Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP)’ screen
appears.

5. Enter the username and password provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
6. Enter the L2TP server host name or IP address provided by your ISP.
