Students <strong>in</strong> Danish higher educati<strong>on</strong> are normally not assessed dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> term to <strong>the</strong> same extent as <strong>in</strong> some o<strong>the</strong>r countries.<br />

However, before graduati<strong>on</strong>, <strong>the</strong> student must pass a number of oral and written exam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong>s. These normally take place<br />

twice a year, <strong>in</strong> January and <strong>in</strong> May/June. The number of exam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong>s and <strong>the</strong> format varies from course to course.<br />

Nearly all exam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong>s — oral and written — are c<strong>on</strong>ducted with <strong>the</strong> participati<strong>on</strong> of external exam<strong>in</strong>ers.
