Diplôme d’éducateur gradué/diplôme d’éducateur<br />

The exam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong> at <strong>the</strong> IEES is adm<strong>in</strong>istered by <strong>the</strong> M<strong>in</strong>istry of Educati<strong>on</strong> and Vocati<strong>on</strong>al Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g. Each year is c<strong>on</strong>cluded<br />

with an exam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong>. The f<strong>in</strong>al exam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong> takes <strong>in</strong>to account <strong>the</strong> achievement, <strong>the</strong> written tests and <strong>the</strong> practical work of <strong>the</strong><br />

whole study period.<br />

The course of study is structured <strong>in</strong>to a <strong>the</strong>oretical, technical and practical part. The <strong>the</strong>oretical part gives <strong>the</strong> student <strong>the</strong><br />

essential knowledge for his/her professi<strong>on</strong>; <strong>the</strong> technical part enables him/her to c<strong>on</strong>duct<br />

educati<strong>on</strong>al activities; and <strong>the</strong> practical part ensures that <strong>the</strong> student has educati<strong>on</strong>al know-how.<br />

In pr<strong>in</strong>ciple <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>oretical and technical parts take 20 weeks of each year of study. Much importance is given to achievement<br />

<strong>the</strong> diplôme d’éducateur<br />

gradué.<br />

The exam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong> is adm<strong>in</strong>istered by <strong>the</strong> M<strong>in</strong>istry of Educati<strong>on</strong> and Vocati<strong>on</strong>al Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g. The first year is c<strong>on</strong>cluded with a<br />

The f<strong>in</strong>al exam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong> of <strong>the</strong> sec<strong>on</strong>d year can be taken <strong>in</strong> three different secti<strong>on</strong>s:<br />

In <strong>the</strong> first year, <strong>the</strong> students have to choose between two different courses of study: management (gesti<strong>on</strong>) and computer<br />

science (<strong>in</strong>formatique). Whereas <strong>the</strong> Department of Computer Science is more specialised <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> sec<strong>on</strong>d year, <strong>the</strong> Department<br />

of Management is divided <strong>in</strong>to two smaller branches: commerce et banque and gesti<strong>on</strong> et c<strong>on</strong>trôle des entreprises.<br />

Each course has its own specific subjects <strong>in</strong> additi<strong>on</strong> to <strong>the</strong> subjects comm<strong>on</strong> to both courses dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> first year.<br />

Achievement is measured by exam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong>s throughout <strong>the</strong> year, which count for 50% of <strong>the</strong> f<strong>in</strong>al exam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong>. Students <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

department of computer science have to complete a f<strong>in</strong>al project besides <strong>the</strong> f<strong>in</strong>al exam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong>. There is no practical part and<br />
