(v) Strengthening infrastructure for quality and clean milk production and<br />

establishment of farm milk coolers at farm level.<br />

(vi) Educating consumers about the importance of quality of milk and milk<br />

products.<br />

(vii) Bringing improvement in hygenic conditions of milk plants in the <strong>State</strong> &<br />

implementation of food safety measures.<br />

(viii) Quality Control in animal feeds and supplements.<br />

(ix) Spreading of knowledge and information about dairying amongst weaker<br />

sections of the society including scheduled castes, backward classes etc.,<br />

initiate and encourage them to dary farming.<br />

2.4.3 An outlay of Rs.13600.00 lac is provided for 11 th<br />

Five Year Plan. An<br />

expenditure of Rs.538.42 lac and Rs.1033.83 lac was incurred during the year 2007-08 and<br />

2008-09 respectively. Against an expenditure of Rs. 559.84 lac incurred during 2010-11, an<br />

outlay of Rs.<strong>12</strong>76.00 lac is provided for the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

To achieve the objectives mentioned above, the details of the<br />

schemes/programmes included in the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong> are as follows:-<br />

2.4.4 The objectives of the scheme are to create infrastructure for production of<br />

quality milk and milk products, improvement of milk procurement at farmer’s level and<br />

training & strengthening of infrastructure to create mass awareness about importance of clean<br />

milk production. This scheme is being implemented with the financial assistance from<br />

Government of India.<br />

2.4.5 An outlay of Rs.3000.00 lac is provided for 11 th<br />

Five Year Plan. An<br />

expenditure of Rs.38.42 lac and Rs. 33.83 lac was incurred during the year 2007-08 and<br />

2008-09 respectively. Against an expenditure of Rs. 59.84 lac as 25% state share incurred<br />

during 2010-11, an outlay of Rs. 150.00 lac is provided for the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.
