11.<strong>12</strong>.8 Under this Act, the state government has established 15 homes as detailed<br />

below for looking after neglected/delinquent juveniles:<br />

(1) Children Homes 7 (Jalandhar (2), Hoshiarpur, Bhatinda, Patiala,<br />

Gurdaspur and Ropar)<br />

(2) Special Homes 2 (Amritsar and Hoshiarpur)<br />

(3) Observation Homes 4 (Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar and Faridkot)<br />

(4) <strong>State</strong> After Care 2 (Amritsar and Ludhiana)<br />

Homes<br />

11.<strong>12</strong>.9 This is a centrally sponsored scheme on 50:50 sharing basis. An expenditure<br />

of Rs. 20.23 lac was incurred during 10th Five Year Plan against the approved outlay of Rs.<br />

300.00 lac. An amount of Rs. 190.00 lac is provided for 11 th Five Year Plan for<br />

construction/repair of existing homes and for the bedding and diet money of the children. An<br />

expenditure of Rs. 16.08 lac was incurred during 2007-08. An outlay of Rs. 35.64 lac was<br />

provided in the Annual Plan 2008-09 but no expenditure could be incurred. An expenditure<br />

of Rs. 7.51 lac was incurred during 2009-10. An expenditure of Rs. 18.09 lac was incurred<br />

during 2010-11. An outlay of Rs. 20.22 lac is provided in the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong> for<br />

giving maintenance grant, contingency & bedding to the children.<br />

SWCP(S) -2 Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS)<br />

Outlay – Rs. 726.92 lac<br />

11.<strong>12</strong>.10 A new centrally sponsored scheme namely ‘Integrated Child Protection<br />

Scheme (ICPS)’ has been included under which measures shall be taken to prohibit the<br />

exploitation of children and for protection of children rights. The MOU has already been<br />

signed between the Government of India and the <strong>State</strong> Government. An outlay of Rs. 726.92<br />

lac is provided in the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.
