incentives for improved health and nutrition to pregnant and nursing<br />

11.<strong>12</strong>.38 The beneficiaries will be paid Rs. 4,000/- in three installments per P&L<br />

women between the second trimester till the child attains the age of 6 months on fulfilling<br />

specific conditions related to maternal and child health. Anganwadi worker and Anganwadi<br />

helper would receive an incentive of Rs. 200/- and Rs. 100/- respectively per P & L woman<br />

after all the due cash transfers to the beneficiary are complete. An outlay of Rs. 1797.01 lac<br />

is provided in the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

11.<strong>12</strong>.39 Supplementary nutrition is provided to all the children below 6 years of age<br />

and to nursing and expectant mothers from low income group families and special attention<br />

is paid to the delivery of supplementary nutrition to the children below 3 years of age who<br />

are identified as severely malnourished. Under this scheme, approximately 70% scheduled<br />

castes beneficiaries are covered. Government of India has decided to reimburse 50% share of<br />

the actual expenditure incurred on supplementary nutrition by the <strong>State</strong> from the financial<br />

year 2005-06. The cost norm for providing nutrition has been revised by the state<br />

government from Rs. 2.25 to Rs. 4.00 per child, from Rs. 2.50 to Rs. 5.00 per mother and<br />

from Rs. 3.00 to Rs. 6.00 for severely malnourished children per day for 300 days in a year<br />

wef 2009-10. At present 26,656 anganwadi centres are functioning in the <strong>State</strong>.<br />

11.<strong>12</strong>.40 An expenditure of Rs. 8860.00 lac was incurred during 10th Five Year Plan<br />

against the approved outlay of Rs. 1000.00 lac. An amount of Rs. 30000.00 lac is provided<br />

for 11 th Five Year Plan. An expenditure of Rs. 5108.95 lac was incurred during 2007-08 with<br />

which 13,49,839 beneficiaries were covered. An expenditure of Rs.4560.02 lac was incurred<br />

during 2008-09 with which 13,67,250 beneficiaries were covered. An expenditure of Rs.
