Interactive Terminals (SITs) have been provided for the school education including 379<br />

science schools + 47 SITs for higher education + 4 SITs for medical education + 5 SITs for<br />

engineering colleges + 15 SIT s for polytechnics + 7 SITs for industrial training institutes +<br />

15 SITs for DIETS + <strong>12</strong> SITs for government in service training centers + 9 SITs for Adarsh<br />

schools of the <strong>Punjab</strong> School Education <strong>Board</strong> + 1 SIT in the office of Director SCERT for<br />

monitoring the programme of District Institutes of Educational Training and government in<br />

service training centers + 1 SIT for the Directorate of Technical Education for monitoring<br />

the programme of Technical Training Institutes + 2 SITs in the hub for monitoring the<br />

programmes broadcasted for higher and secondary education institutes.<br />

11.1.20 Under the expansion plan, NABARD has approved a project of Rs. 9467.21<br />

lac (NABARD share Rs. 6507.62 lac + <strong>State</strong> share Rs. 2959.59 lac) on 2 nd February, 2010<br />

for provision of infrastructure for establishment of virtual class rooms under EDUSAT<br />

programme in 1501 schools. The period of the completion of the project is 31 st March, <strong>2011</strong>.<br />

An expenditure of Rs. 1531.20 lac (NABARD share Rs. 1301.52 lac + state share Rs.<br />

229.68 lac) was incurred in the Annual Plan 2010-11. As the NABARD project was likely to<br />

be completed by the year 2010-11, an amount of Rs. 75.00 lac is provided in the Annual Plan<br />

<strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>. With the completion of NABARD project, all the senior secondary schools will be<br />

covered under the EDUSAT network.<br />

EDE-6 <strong>State</strong> Support for kitchen sheds<br />

Outlay – Rs. 450.00 lac<br />

11.1.21 There is target to construct kitchen sheds in 18969 schools (13432 primary<br />

schools + 5537 upper primary schools). Government of India has provided funds for<br />

construction of kitchen sheds in 18969 schools, out of these 18445 kitchen sheds were<br />

allotted, of which 13280 kitchen sheds have been completed and construction work is in<br />

progress in 5165 schools and remaining 524 schools is the target to be completed in <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

An amount of Rs. 450.00 lac is provided in the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />
