UD-9 Strengthening of Fire and Emergency Services (75:25)<br />

Outlay - Rs. 100.00 lac<br />

11.7.11 The overall objective of the scheme is to strengthen the existing Fire and<br />

Emergency Services and progressively transform the fire services into multi-hazard response<br />

situations.<br />

No expenditure has been incurred under this scheme during 2008-09. A token<br />

provision of Rs. 1.00 lac was provided during 2009-10, but no expenditure was incurred.<br />

However, an outlay of Rs. 100.00 lac as state share is provided in the Annual Plan 2010-<strong>2011</strong><br />

against which expenditure of Rs. 14.50 lac has been incurred. However, an outlay of Rs.<br />

100.00 lac as state share is provided in the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

UD-2 Swaran Jayanti Shehari Rojgar Yojana (75:25)<br />

11.7.<strong>12</strong> This scheme has been designed to alleviate the index of poverty in the urban<br />

settlements of the <strong>State</strong> by way of providing opportunities in Self Employment to the poor<br />

urban youth, upgrading the skill of urban youth so as to enable them to find employment in<br />

maintaining their livelihood. Under this scheme, subsidy and loan is being given to the urban<br />

youth to set-up self employment ventures. Training is also being imparted to urban youth in<br />

various skills. Special stress has been laid on employment of women. There are 1, 79,205<br />

BPL families in the urban areas. An outlay of Rs. 500.00 lac has been provided in the 11 th<br />

Five Year Plan. An expenditure of Rs. 64.30 lac and 14.00 lac was incurred during 2007-08<br />

and 2008-09 respectively. An outlay of Rs. 80.00 lac was provided for Annual Plan 2009-10<br />

against which an expenditure of Rs. 23.00 lac was incurred. An outlay of Rs. 80.00 lac as a<br />

state share is provided in the Annual Plan 2010-<strong>2011</strong> against which expenditure of Rs. 10.56<br />

lac has been incurred. However, an outlay of Rs. 100.00 lac as a state share is provided for<br />

the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

UD-3 Grant in aid to Local Bodies for maintenance of Civic Services<br />

recommended by <strong>12</strong> th Finance Commission<br />

Outlay - Rs. 1.00 lac<br />

11.7.13 As per the recommendations of the <strong>12</strong> th Finance Commission grant-in-aid of<br />

Rs. 34.20 crore is given every year to the Local Bodies for maintenance of civic services<br />

(from 2005-06 to 2009-10). An amount of Rs. 5130.00 lac had been provided under the<br />

scheme in the revised estimates of 2006-07 as grant -in-aid to local bodies in the <strong>State</strong> against<br />

the approved outlay of Rs. 3420.00 lac. An outlay of Rs. 10260.00 lac has been provided in
