CS-11 Incentives to girls for secondary education<br />

Outlay – Rs. 1574.00 lac<br />

11.1.51 The 100% centrally sponsored scheme admitted with the objective to reduce<br />

the drop-out rate and to promote enrolment of girls belonging to SC/ST communities in<br />

secondary schools and to ensure their retention upto 18 years of age. The scheme is<br />

applicable to all the girls studying in govt/govt aided/local body schools and to all the girls of<br />

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) who have passed class-VIII examination and<br />

have joined class-IX. A sum of Rs. 3000/- is credited into the bank accounts of all eligible<br />

girls under the scheme. Incentive amount could be drawn by the beneficiary after attaining<br />

the age of 18 years, after a minimum schooling of two years at secondary level and passing<br />

the class-X board examination successfully. The grants are directly transferred into the<br />

accounts of beneficiaries through the banks. There are 30191 eligible girls under the scheme.<br />

An expenditure of Rs. 905.73 lac and Rs. <strong>12</strong>86.68 lac was incurred in the Annual Plan 2009-<br />

10 and 2010-11. An outlay of Rs. 1574.00 lac is provided for the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

CS-17 Assistance for appointment of Hindi teachers in non-Hindi speaking<br />

<strong>State</strong>s/U.Ts.<br />

Outlay – Rs. 5801.00 lac<br />

11.1.52 This 100% centrally sponsored scheme admitted for appointment of 2337<br />

Hindi teachers (1885 Hindi masters & 452 Hindi lecturers). Government of India has already<br />

sanctioned the 1168 posts. An expenditure of Rs. 456.00 lac and Rs. 647.00 lac was incurred<br />

during 2009-10 and 2010-11 respectively. An outlay of Rs. 5801.00 lac is provided for the<br />

Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

CS-18 Assistance for appointment of Urdu teachers<br />

Outlay – Rs. 33.00 lac<br />

11.1.53 This 100% centrally sponsored scheme included with the aim to popularise<br />

the Urdu language in the state. An outlay of Rs 73.56 lac was provided in the Annual Plan<br />

2009- 10 to appoint 42 Urdu teachers. Though Government of India had sanctioned these<br />

posts, nil expenditure was incurred under the scheme as the process of recruitment of<br />

teachers could not be completed during 2009-10. An expenditure of Rs.10.38 lac was<br />

incurred in the Annual Plan 2010-11. An outlay of Rs. 33.00 lac is provided for the Annual<br />

Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.
