11 th Five Year Plan. Against an outlay Rs. 8500.00 lac as 85% Government of India share<br />

and Rs. 1500.00 lac as 15% state share, an expenditure of Rs. 1770.43 lac and Rs. 3<strong>12</strong>.43 lac<br />

respectively was incurred during 2007-08. Against an outlay Rs. 5100.00 lac as 85%<br />

Government of India share and Rs.900.00 lac as 15% state share, an expenditure of Rs.<br />

2504.90 lac and Rs. 442.04 lac respectively was incurred during 2008-09. An expenditure of<br />

Rs. 3768.00 lac as 85% Government of India’s share and Rs. 455.00 lac as 15% state share<br />

was incurred during 2009-10. Against an expenture of Rs. 3553.00 lac as 85% Government<br />

of India’s share and Rs. 626.65 lac as 15% state share incurred during 2010-11, an outlay of<br />

Rs. 5100.00 lac as 85% Government of India’s share and Rs. 900.00 lac as 15% state share is<br />

provided for the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

HORT-6 Strengthening of Citrus Estates<br />

Outlay – Rs. 500.00 lac<br />

2.1.56 Five citrus estates were established in the <strong>State</strong> at Badal, Abohar, Tahliwala<br />

Jattan, Chunni Kalan (Bijwara) and Bhunga (Hoshiarpur) to facilitate the production and<br />

marketing of Kinnow and other citrus varieties. The facilities like tree pruners, power<br />

sprayers, fruit graders, pre-cooling chambers and waxing of fruits etc. would be created in<br />

these estates.<br />

2.1.57 An outlay of Rs. 1000.00 lac is provided in the 11 th Five Year Plan. Against an<br />

outlay of Rs. 1000.00 lac, provided as an ACA by Government of India, an expenditure of<br />

Rs. 2000.00 lac was incurred during 2007-08 including Rs. 1000.00 crore provided from<br />

RDF. From 2007-08 onwards, the scheme is continued on the <strong>State</strong> plan side. Against an<br />

expenditure of Rs. 50.00 lac incurred during 2010-11, an outlay of Rs. 500.00 lac is provided<br />

for the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

HORT-7 Catalytic Development Programme (36:26:38) (GoI:<strong>State</strong>: Beneficiary)<br />

Outlay – Rs. 29.90 lac<br />

2.1.58 In <strong>Punjab</strong>, Sericulture is under administrative control of Directorate of<br />

Horticulture <strong>Punjab</strong>, Chandigarh. The <strong>State</strong> produces Bivoltine Silk. The popular silk work<br />

races are NB-4 D2 x SH6 and it’s reciprocal. The agro-climatic condition of some pockets of<br />

the <strong>State</strong> is very congenial and conducive for cultivation of Mulberry silk. A new centrally<br />

sponsored project namely ‘Catalytic Development Programme’ was implemented during
