ratio has increased from 798 in 2001 to 846 during the last 10 years.<br />

11.<strong>12</strong>.5 As children are the greatest assets of the nation because they shape its future<br />

progress, the core of our strategy should be for creating a better world for them. The<br />

objective of the child development schemes is to enhance the nutrition level of the children<br />

and reducing Infant Child Mortality Rate (IMR), Child Mortality Rate (CMR) and Mother<br />

Mortality Rate (MMR). The state government has taken up various schemes and<br />

programmes to guarantee their basic human rights including survival, development and full<br />

participation in social, cultural, educational and other endeavours necessary for their<br />

individual growth and well being.<br />

11.<strong>12</strong>.6 A dedicated Social Security Fund amounting to Rs. 550.00 crore funded by<br />

5% cess on electricity duty and 3% additional stamp duty on urban transactions has been<br />

created to meet the <strong>State</strong>’s commitment regarding various pensions. The state government is<br />

actively pursuing a programme to disburse these pensions at the homes of the beneficiaries,<br />

through the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) scheme, in collaboration with banks. The list<br />
