DHS 30 Strengthening of Logistic Services in the <strong>State</strong> of <strong>Punjab</strong><br />

Outlay -Rs. 200.00 lac<br />

11.5.81 The Committee in the PHSC after studying system being followed by Tamil<br />

Nadhu Medical Services Corporation(TNMSC) Chennai suggested that a separate wing of<br />

medicines and consumables alongwith equipment should be established within the<br />

procurement section of PHSC.<br />

11.5.82 AD intends to strengthen four existing regional stores and supply chain<br />

management. A special designed software would be developed to increase efficiency in<br />

procurement, testing and distribution. Four existing regional godowns would be upgraded<br />

following modern warehousing techniques. A new scheme DHS 30 “Strengthening of<br />

Logistic Services in the <strong>State</strong> of <strong>Punjab</strong>” has been incorporated in the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong><br />

with an outlay of Rs. 200.00 lac.<br />

DHS 31 Strengthening of Hospital Management of Information Systems and IT<br />

Infrastructure in the Hospitals<br />

Outlay -Rs. 100.00 lac<br />

11.5.83 The PHSC is in the process for hiring consultancy for development of<br />

appropriate software for operationalization of HMIS in 172 hospitals under PHSC. In order<br />

to operationlize this system, AD has proposed as under :<br />

(i) Monitoring of daily OPD and other vital indicators<br />

(ii) Operationalization of main computerization i.e involving OPD, IPD, cash<br />

collection/billing, MIS and other additional functionalities.<br />

11.5.84 The new proposed upgradation is proposed to be managed through central<br />

server to be placed in the PHSC office. This will reduce the hardware cost as well as<br />

maintenance costs of the software. For extention of computerization in 172 hospitals, funds<br />

are required for hardware as well as software development. A new scheme DHS 31<br />

“Strengthening of Hospital Management of Information Systems and IT Infrastructure in the<br />

Hospitals” has been incorporated in the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong> with an outlay of Rs. 100.00<br />

lac.<br />
