11.9.15 An outlay of Rs. 50.00 lac was provided for setting up Centre of Media<br />

Excellence in the Annual Plan 2008-09 but no expenditure was incurred. A token provision<br />

of Rs. 1.00 lac was provided for this scheme in the Annual Plan 2009-10. An outlay of Rs.<br />

10.00 lac is provided in the Annual Plan 2010-11. No outlay is provided in the Annual Plan<br />

<strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

11.9.16 The main objective the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the<br />

journalists. The scheme was admitted during 2008-09 however, no expenditure was<br />

incurred. An expenditure of Rs. 1.98 lac was incurred during 2009-10. Against an<br />

expenditure of Rs. 5.77 lac incurred during 2010-11, an outlay of Rs. 10.00 lac is provided<br />

in the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

IP-14 Establishment of <strong>Punjab</strong> <strong>State</strong> Media Society (PUNMEDIA)<br />

11.9.17 The aim and objective of the Society is to provide professional<br />

communication support to various developmental programmes, policies and initiatives and to<br />

co-ordinate the publicity, advertising and corporate communication requirements of various<br />

organizations of the state. The Society will develop in-house facilities for professional<br />

computer aided designing, copywriting, editing, graphic designing and other allied
