capabilities and physical facilities available for measurements, validation, collection,<br />

analysis, transfer and dissemination of hydrological, hydro metrological and water quality<br />

data which is basic for water resources evaluation and to help in the development of the<br />

improved water resources and environmental planning and management.<br />

14.8 An outlay of Rs. 4450.00 lac is provided for 11th Five year Plan. The total<br />

cumulative expenditure incurred upto financial year <strong>2011</strong> is Rs. 981.83 lac which includes<br />

Rs. 315.94 lac as state component for land payment to GMADA which is non-reimbursable<br />

and expenditure of Rs. 665.89 lac has been incurred on the various works/activities of HP-II<br />

which are reimbursable from World Bank.<br />

14.9 An outlay of Rs. 1000.00 lac has been approved for the year 2010-11 against<br />

which an expenditure of Rs. 244.93 lac has been incurred which includes reimbursable<br />

expenditure of Rs. 199.77 lac on the purchase of goods & other activities of HP-II and nonreimbursable<br />

expenditure of Rs. 45.16 lac incurred to make payment of land installment of<br />

<strong>State</strong> Data Centre. The activities like up-gradation of river gauges, installation for rain<br />

gauges, construction of <strong>State</strong> Data Centre, purchase of computers & office equipments,<br />

training courses/workshops, procurement of land, procurement of equipments, improvement<br />

in communication facilities, purchase of vehicle etc. will be undertaken during <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>. Rs.<br />

2000.00 lac are provided for the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong> out of which Rs. 1600.00 lac will be<br />

reimbursed by World Bank.<br />

III. <strong>Punjab</strong> Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project (World Bank)<br />

outlay 20000.00 lac<br />

14.10 <strong>Punjab</strong> Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project costing Rs. <strong>12</strong>8030.00 lac has been<br />

approved by World Bank and final agreement was signed on 26/2/2007. The effective date<br />

of implementation of the project is 26/3/2007. The project aims at covering the following<br />

villages in the next five year (2007-08 to 20<strong>12</strong>-13).<br />

(1) 600 NC villages<br />

(2) 600 PC villages<br />

(3) 600 villages – Improvement of water supply<br />

(4) 218 villages – Cleaning of village ponds<br />

(5) 100 villages – Small Bore Sewerage System<br />
