SW(S)-5 Janshree Bima Yojana for BPL families (rural & urban) (50% directly<br />

11.11.13 For the upliftment of economically weaker sections of the society, Janshree<br />

Bima Yojana has been introduced during 2008-09 which will cover the people living below<br />

poverty line in both rural and urban areas. The people marginally above the poverty line will<br />

also be covered. 50% of the premium i.e. Rs. 100/- per annum per person would be<br />

subsidized from the Social Security Fund created by the central government being managed<br />

by LIC of India and the balance 50% premium i.e.Rs. 100/- per annum per person would be<br />

contributed by the state government. Persons aged 18 to 60 years are covered for:<br />

(a) Rs. 30,000/- in case of natural death.<br />

(b) Rs. 75,000/- in case of death or permanent disability due to accident.<br />

(c) Rs. 37,500/- in case of partial disability due to accident.<br />

11.11.14 Under this scheme, two children of the insured persons will be eligible for a<br />

scholarship of Rs. 300/- per quarter per child studying in 9th to <strong>12</strong>th class without paying<br />

extra premium. The scholarship will be paid only for four years. If the child fails in any<br />

class, no scholarship will be paid to him/her for that very class again. An outlay of Rs.<br />

400.00 lac each was provided during 2008-09 and 2009-10 but no expenditure could be<br />

incurred. An expenditure of Rs. 49.43 lac was incurred during 2010-11. An outlay of Rs.<br />

400.00 lac is provided in the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong> to cover 4,00,000 beneficiaries.<br />

SW(S)-6 Aam Admi Bima Yojana for rural landless households (50% directly<br />

released to LIC by GOI)<br />

Outlay - Rs. 130.00 lac<br />

11.11.15 A group insurance scheme for rural landless households namely Aam Admi<br />

Bima Yojana (AABY) was launched by Government of India on 2 nd October, 2007. This<br />

scheme is to cover all the rural landless households in the <strong>State</strong>. The total premium per<br />

member per annum is Rs. 200/- out of which Rs. 100/- per annum is borne by Government of<br />

India through a Fund specifically marked for the same. The remaining Rs. 100/- per annum<br />

would be contributed by the state government. Persons aged 18-59 years are entitled for the<br />

following benefits:-<br />

(a) Natural death Rs. 30,000/-
