3.51 This scheme has been admitted as a new scheme in the revised estimates of<br />

2010-11 with an amount of Rs. 283.14 lac. With a view that the benefits of various schemes<br />

of Ministry of Rural Development reach the target groups and to maintain uniformity in<br />

criteria for identification of BPL households and for effective planning and financial<br />

management, BPL Pilot Survey <strong>2011</strong> has to be conducted as per Government of India<br />

guidelines. 8 districts (8 villages of 8 blocks) of <strong>Punjab</strong> <strong>State</strong> have been selected by<br />

Government of India for conducting the BPL Pilot Survey <strong>2011</strong>. Under this Pilot Survey<br />

census will be conducted of the entire village and all the households in the villages will have<br />

to be covered. It has to be ensured that no household is left during the process of survey. This<br />

also includes homeless households which are not staying in the residential premises. It is a<br />

preliminary exercise to arrive at the final methodlogy for the final BPL census and is not the<br />

final BPL census itself. Based on the results of this Pilot Survey, a suitable methodlogy for<br />

identification of poor will be evolved. Government of India has released grant-in-aid of Rs.<br />

283.14 lac to <strong>Punjab</strong> <strong>State</strong> as first instalment for conducting BPL Pilot Survey <strong>2011</strong> for the<br />

following villages during 2010-11:-<br />
