approved Computerised Management Information System Project of Rs. 419.00 lac out of<br />

which a sum of Rs. <strong>12</strong>5.37 lac was released. During 11 th Five Year Plan it is proposed to<br />

launch web-based software and whole of the department will be computerized up to sub-<br />

division level. Web enabled software will be developed for monitoring to various<br />

programmes as well as future planning. An expenditure of Rs. <strong>12</strong>4.94 lac was incurred<br />

during 2008-09. An outlay of Rs. 300.00 lac was provided for Annual Plan 2009-10 against<br />

which an expenditure of Rs. 79.22 lac was incurred. However, an outlay of Rs. 300.00 lac is<br />

provided in the Annual Plan 2010-<strong>2011</strong> against which expenditure of Rs. 138.37 lac has been<br />

incurred. An outlay of Rs. 200.00 lac as a central share is provided for the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<br />

<strong>12</strong>.<br />

11.6.63 To ensure sustainability of rural water supply projects as envisaged in<br />

Swajaldhara Programme and other projects like World Bank aided Programme, it is<br />

necessary to motivate, educate and involve the beneficiaries by imparting training at the grass<br />

root level for computer building. To meet this requirement the Human Resource<br />

Development Cell was created in <strong>Punjab</strong> on 1/8/1999. Now, it is renamed as Communication<br />

and Capacity Development Unit, which will be financed by Government of India on 100%<br />

basis. An outlay of Rs. 4250.00 lac has been provided in the11 th Five Year Plan. No funds<br />

were released by Government of India however an expenditure of Rs. 247.46 lac was<br />

incurred from funds available of last year. An outlay of Rs. 1000.00 lac was provided for<br />

Annual Plan 2009-10 against which an expenditure of Rs. 82.01 lac was incurred. An outlay<br />

of Rs. 150.00 lac is provided in the Annual Plan 2010-<strong>2011</strong> against which an expenditure of<br />

Rs. 345.46 lac has been incurred. which is likely to be incurred. An outlay of Rs. 200.00 lac<br />

as a central share is provided for the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

11.6.64 Government of India has launched the project of JALMANI to provide<br />

improved quality of drinking water to school children through Stand alone Water Purification<br />

System. Till now, Government of India has released an amount of Rs. 5.45 crore for<br />

installation of water purification system in 2722 rural schools. An amount of Rs. 100.00 lac<br />

was provided during 2009-10 against which an expenditure of Rs. 100.92 lac was incurred.
