An outlay of Rs. 1800.00 lac is provided in the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong> against<br />

the nil expenditure during 2010-11.<br />

TM 19 Introduction of Information Technology in Tourism<br />

10.3.45 The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India provides central financial<br />

assistance for development of tourist related information technology projects. To avail this<br />

assistance, some state plan allocation may be required.<br />

10.4 CIVIL SUPPLIES<br />

Outlay - Rs. 364.13 lac<br />

10.4.1 During 2010-11, the production of wheat is 152 lac MT & that of paddy is<br />

approximately 130 lac MT. During 2009-10, the production of paddy is 168 lac MT and that<br />

of wheat is 157 lac MT. During 2008-09 the <strong>State</strong> has produced 324 lac MT of foodgrains.<br />

The procurement of wheat by govt. agencies was 108 lac MT during the current Rabbi 2010<br />

and the procurement of paddy during the Kharif 2010 was <strong>12</strong>9 lac MT. The Public<br />

Distribution system is successfully implemented for the benefit of 4.68 lac poor families.<br />

The no. of BPL families in <strong>Punjab</strong> is 523681, out of which 344476 are rural BPL families<br />

and 179205 urban BPL families. The state government has introduced Atta Dal scheme<br />

meant for economically weaker section of the society w.e.f on 15/8/2007 for providing<br />

subsidized wheat and pulses and 15.07 lac poor families are getting subsidized food and<br />

pulses under this scheme.
