CS (AGR)-5 Promotion and strengthening of agricultural mechanization through<br />

training, testing and demonstration<br />

Outlay – Rs. 100.00 lac<br />

2.1.72 The main objectives of the scheme are design and fabrication of crop specific<br />

machines and equipment, matching implement/machines to improve efficiency and saving<br />

fuel, field demonstrations of these machines, dissemination of information to the farmers.<br />

The scheme is having the following components-<br />

(1) Demonstration of newly developed agricultural equipment.<br />

(2) Outsourcing of training through identified institutions.<br />

2.1.73 An outlay of Rs. 500.00 lac is provided for the 11 th Five Year Plan. An<br />

expenditure of Rs. 29.58 lac, Rs.3.72 lac and Rs. 8.16 lac was incurred during 2007-08,<br />

2008-09 and 2009-10 respectively. An outlay of Rs. 100.00 lac is provided for the Annual<br />

Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

CS (AGR)-6 AGRISNET Project<br />

Outlay – NIL<br />

2.1.74 Under ‘AGRISNET’, a programme of information technology is proposed to be<br />

implemented in Agriculture Department. An outlay of Rs. 500.00 lac is provided for the 11 th<br />

Five Year Plan. The funds have been provided directly to the implementing agency. Hence,<br />

no outlay is provided for the Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />

CS (AGR)-11 Development and strengthening of seed infrastructure for production and<br />

distribution of quality seeds- implementation of Seed Village Scheme<br />

Outlay – NIL<br />

2.1.75 The objectives of the scheme are seed multiplication through progressive<br />

farmers, replacement of old variety with a fresh lot of quality seed, ensuring adequate seed<br />

supply and increase in productivity of different crops.<br />

2.1.76 An outlay of Rs. 500.00 lac for the 11 th Five Year Plan is provided for<br />

implementing this scheme. An expenditure of Rs. 29.75 lac was incurred during 2007-08.<br />

Govt. of India releases funds directly to PUNSEED. Hence, no outlay is provided for the<br />

Annual Plan <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.
