Iyaas remained silent and Rasulullaah @%$ left <strong>the</strong>m. <strong>The</strong> group later left for<br />

Madinah.<br />

This occurred during <strong>the</strong> period when <strong>the</strong> Aws and Khazraj tribes were fighting a<br />

prolonged battle called "Bu'aath. It was not long <strong>the</strong>reafter that Iyaas passed<br />

away. Hadhrat Mahmood bin Labeed narrates fuq<strong>the</strong>r'that <strong>the</strong> people who were<br />

with Iyaas at <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> his death informed him that <strong>the</strong>y heard Iyaas reciting<br />

<strong>the</strong> words "Laa Ilaaha Illalaah", "Allaahu ~lcbae and "Subhaanallaah" until he<br />

died. <strong>The</strong>re is no doubt about <strong>the</strong> fact that he died as a Muslim. He had accepted<br />

Islaam as soon as he received <strong>the</strong> invitation directly from Rasulullaah @@.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Da'wah Rasulullaah @@! gave to Large<br />

Rasulullaah invites his close relatives to Islaam toge<strong>the</strong>r with various<br />

tribes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Quraysh upon <strong>the</strong> revelation <strong>of</strong> a verse<br />

Hadhrat Abdullaah bin ~bbaas 4- narrates that Rasulullaah @% climbed <strong>the</strong><br />

hill <strong>of</strong> Marwah when <strong>the</strong> following verse <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Qur'aan was revealed:<br />

(0 Rasulullaah @?%!First) warn your closest relatives (about <strong>the</strong><br />

punishment due to those who reject Imaan). {Surah Shu'araa, verse 2 14)<br />

From <strong>the</strong> top <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> hill, Rasulullaah @?% called out, "0 <strong>the</strong> family <strong>of</strong> Fahr! to this<br />

call, <strong>the</strong> Quraysh arrived. Abu Lahab bin Abdul Muttalib said, "<strong>The</strong> Fahr tribe are<br />

present before you, so say your piece?" Rasulullaah @% called, "0 <strong>the</strong> family <strong>of</strong><br />

Ghaalib!" So <strong>the</strong> Banu Mahaarib and Banu Haarith tribes, who were <strong>the</strong><br />

descendants <strong>of</strong> Fahr returned. <strong>The</strong>n Rasulullaah && called, "0 <strong>the</strong> family <strong>of</strong><br />

Luway bin Ghaalib!" So <strong>the</strong> Banu Taymul Adram tribe, who were <strong>the</strong> descendants<br />

<strong>of</strong> Ghaalib returned. <strong>The</strong>reafter, Rasulullaah @?% called, "0 <strong>the</strong> family <strong>of</strong> Ka'b bin<br />

Luway!" So <strong>the</strong> Banu Aamir tribe, who were <strong>the</strong> descendants <strong>of</strong> Luway returned.<br />

<strong>The</strong>n Rasulullaah @&% called, "0 <strong>the</strong> family <strong>of</strong> Murrah bin Ka'b!" So <strong>the</strong> Banu Adi<br />

bin K$b, <strong>the</strong> Banu Sahm and <strong>the</strong> Banu Jumah bin Arnr bin Husays tribes, who<br />

were all <strong>the</strong> descendants <strong>of</strong> Ka'b bin Luway returned.<br />

<strong>The</strong>n Rasulullaah @%% called, "0 <strong>the</strong> family <strong>of</strong> Kilaab bin Murrah!" So <strong>the</strong> Banu<br />

Makhzoom bin Yaqzah and Banu Taym tribes, who were <strong>the</strong> descendants <strong>of</strong><br />

Murrah returned. <strong>The</strong>n Rasulullaah #%% called, "0 <strong>the</strong> family <strong>of</strong> Qusay!" So <strong>the</strong><br />

Banu Zuhrah tribe, who were <strong>the</strong> descendants <strong>of</strong> Qusay returned. <strong>The</strong>n<br />

Rasulullaah @% called, "0 <strong>the</strong> family <strong>of</strong> Abd Manaafl" So <strong>the</strong> Banu Abdud Daar,<br />

<strong>the</strong> Banu Asad bin Abdil Uzza and Banu Abd tribes, who were <strong>the</strong> descendants <strong>of</strong><br />

Qusay returned.<br />

Abu Lahab <strong>the</strong>n said, "<strong>The</strong> Abd Manaaf tribe are present before you, so say your<br />

piece?" Rasulullaah &@ <strong>the</strong>n spoke, "Allaah has commanded me to warn my<br />

closest relatives and you are <strong>the</strong> closest to me from among <strong>the</strong> Quraysh. I can do<br />

(1) Kanzul Ummaal (Vol. 7 Pg. 11). Ahmad and Tabraani have also narrated <strong>the</strong> Hadith with reliable<br />

narrators as mentioned by Haythami (Vol. 6 Pg. 36). Many scholars have narrated it from an<br />

au<strong>the</strong>ntic narration <strong>of</strong> Ibn Is'haaq in his Maghaazi as mentioned in lsaaba (Vol. 1 Pg, 91).
