Rasulullaah m said, "I will not take <strong>of</strong>fence. You may ask whatever you<br />

please." Hadhrat Dimaam BSw said, "I ask you in <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> that Allaah Who<br />

is your deity, <strong>the</strong> deity <strong>of</strong> those before you and <strong>the</strong> deity <strong>of</strong> those coming after<br />

you. Has Allaah sent you to us?" ~ asulullaalt'~ replied, "Yes, by Allaah!"<br />

Hadhrat Dimaam %l!i%%j asked fur<strong>the</strong>r, "I ask you in <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> that Allaah Who<br />

is your deity, <strong>the</strong> deity <strong>of</strong> those before you and <strong>the</strong> deity <strong>of</strong> those coming after<br />

you. Has Allaah commanded you to instruct us that we should worship only He<br />

Who is <strong>The</strong> One and that we should not ascribe anyone as partner to'~im?"<br />

Hadhrat Dimaam !&U&% <strong>the</strong>n enquired, "I ask you in <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> that Allaah<br />

Who is your deity, <strong>the</strong> deity <strong>of</strong> those before you and <strong>the</strong> deity <strong>of</strong> those coming<br />

after you. Has Allaah issued <strong>the</strong> command to you that we should perform <strong>the</strong>se<br />

five salaahs?" Rasulullaah @?!% again responded by saying, 'Yes, by Allaah!" In<br />

this manner, Hadhrat Dimaam asked about each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Faraa'idh <strong>of</strong><br />

Islaam, about zakaah, fasting, Hajj as well as <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r injunctions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Shari'ah. Each time he asked about any Fardh injunction, he asked Rasulullaah<br />

@@$ in <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> Allaah as he had done initially. When he had completed <strong>the</strong><br />

questioning, he said:<br />

"I testify that <strong>the</strong>re is none worthy <strong>of</strong> worship but Allaah and that<br />

Muhammad @%i%<br />

is Allaah's Rasul."<br />

He said fur<strong>the</strong>r, "I shall fulfil all <strong>the</strong>se Faraa'idh and abstain from everything you<br />

have forbidden. Nei<strong>the</strong>r shall I add to this, nor reduce anything." He <strong>the</strong>n went to<br />

his camel to return home. Rasulullaah @%% commented, "If this man with two<br />

locks <strong>of</strong> long hair is truthful, he shall definitely enter Jannah."<br />

<strong>The</strong> Banu Sa'd Accept Islaam and <strong>the</strong> Statement <strong>of</strong><br />

Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas %W&j Concerning<br />

Hadhrat Dimaam $&lBWj<br />

Hadhrat Dimaam %l!3@& went to his camel, untied <strong>the</strong> rope and <strong>the</strong>n rode away<br />

until he reached his people. <strong>The</strong> first thing he said was, "Laat and Uzza are most<br />

terrible!" <strong>The</strong> people said, "Do not say thit Dimaam! Beware <strong>of</strong> white liver!<br />

Beware <strong>of</strong> leprosy! Beware <strong>of</strong> insanity!(<strong>The</strong> idols will inflict you with <strong>the</strong>se<br />

diseases for saying this)." Hadhrat Dimaam B,= said to <strong>the</strong>m, "Shame on you!<br />

By Allaah! <strong>The</strong>se two idols can nei<strong>the</strong>r do harm nor give benefit. Allaah has sent a<br />

Rasul and revealed a book to him to save you from what you are involved in. I<br />

testify that <strong>the</strong>re is none worthy <strong>of</strong> worship but Allaah and that Muhammad @@<br />

is Allaah's servant and Rasul. I have just come from him with <strong>the</strong> details <strong>of</strong> things<br />

he has commanded and those that he has forbidden."<br />

<strong>The</strong> narrator <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> reports states, "By Allaah! By <strong>the</strong> same evening every male<br />

and female present with Hadhrat Dimaam WWi$ was a Muslim. Hadhrat<br />

Abdullaah bin Abbaas %iW#M states, "we have never heard <strong>of</strong> any representative
