Kitaab have been saying that <strong>the</strong> time is close when a Nabi shall emerge from<br />

<strong>the</strong> Haram." To this, a one-eyed man from <strong>the</strong> tribe stood up and said, "Be silent<br />

and hear me out! His own people have driven h@-n out yet you want to shelter<br />

him and thus bear fighting all <strong>the</strong> Arabs! You canpot do this! I repeat: You cannot<br />

do this!" Rasulullaah w <strong>the</strong>n left <strong>the</strong>m feeling {ery grieved.<br />

When <strong>the</strong> tribe returned home and informed <strong>the</strong>ir people about <strong>the</strong> incident, a<br />

Jew said to <strong>the</strong>m, ''You people have missed a golden opportunity. Had you<br />

received this man, you would have become <strong>the</strong> leaders <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Arabs. We have<br />

<strong>the</strong> description <strong>of</strong> this man in our scriptures. As he described Rasulullaah @@<br />

(from <strong>the</strong> scriptures), those people who had seen Rasulullaah &@!% confirmed<br />

every description he gave. <strong>The</strong> Jew said fur<strong>the</strong>r, "We have in our scriptures that<br />

he shall appear in Makkah and <strong>the</strong>n migrate to Yathrib (Madinah)." <strong>The</strong> people<br />

<strong>the</strong>n decided that <strong>the</strong>y would meet Rasulullaah @@ <strong>the</strong> following Hajj season,<br />

but none <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m got to meet him because one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir leaders prevented <strong>the</strong>m<br />

from going for Hajj that season. When <strong>the</strong> Jew passed away, he was heard<br />

accepting Rasulullaah (as Allaah's Nabi) and believing in him. (I)<br />

Invites <strong>the</strong> Banu Ka'b Tribe to<br />

Islaam<br />

Abdur Rahmaan Al Aamiri narrates from <strong>the</strong> elders <strong>of</strong> his tribe that <strong>the</strong>y were in<br />

<strong>the</strong> marketplace <strong>of</strong> Ukaaz when Rasulullaah w approached <strong>the</strong>m. When he<br />

asked <strong>the</strong>m which tribe <strong>the</strong>y belonged to, <strong>the</strong>y replied that <strong>the</strong>y belonged to <strong>the</strong><br />

Banu Aamir bin Sa'sa'ah tribe. "Which family <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Banu Aamir?" asked<br />

Rasulullaah @%%. "<strong>The</strong> descendants <strong>of</strong> Ka'b bin Rabee'ah," came <strong>the</strong> reply.<br />

Rasulullaah &%& asked <strong>the</strong>m, "How strong are you?" <strong>The</strong>y replied, "None would<br />

dare touch anything in our territory or even warm himself at our fireplace."<br />

Rasulullaah @%% <strong>the</strong>n said to <strong>the</strong>m, "I am <strong>the</strong> Rasul <strong>of</strong> Allaah. If I come to you,<br />

will you grant me protection so that I may propagate <strong>the</strong> message <strong>of</strong> my Rabb? I<br />

shall not force any <strong>of</strong> you into anything."<br />

<strong>The</strong> people asked, "To which family <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Quraysh do you belong?" "To <strong>the</strong><br />

family <strong>of</strong> Abdul Muttalib," ~asulullaah @%$ replied. <strong>The</strong>y <strong>the</strong>n asked, "How have<br />

<strong>the</strong> family <strong>of</strong> Abd Manaaf treated you?" Rasulullaah @@ responded by saying,<br />

"<strong>The</strong>y were <strong>the</strong> first to reject me and discard me." <strong>The</strong> people said, "But we shall<br />

not discard you nor shall we believe in you. However, we shall protect you so<br />

that you may propagate <strong>the</strong> message <strong>of</strong> your Rabb." Rasulullaah @%% <strong>the</strong>n joined<br />

<strong>the</strong>m (intending to return with <strong>the</strong>m to <strong>the</strong>ir territory).<br />

In <strong>the</strong> meantime, <strong>the</strong> tribe continued trading in <strong>the</strong> marketplace when Bujra bin<br />

Qais Qushayri came to <strong>the</strong>m and said, "Who is this with you? I do not recognise<br />

him." "He is Muhammad bin Abdillaah from <strong>the</strong> Quraysh," <strong>the</strong>y replied. "What<br />

have you people got to do with him?" Bujra asked. <strong>The</strong>y.said, "He claims that he<br />
