accompany me.' I swear by Allaah that before <strong>the</strong>n I had never known anyone<br />

to cry out <strong>of</strong> joy until I saw Hadhrat Abu Bakr BGw cry that day. Hadhrat Abu<br />

Bakr SW$6 <strong>the</strong>n said, '0 Nabi <strong>of</strong> Allaah @&! I have kept those two camels<br />

ready for this purpose.' He <strong>the</strong>n hired Abdullaah bin Urayqidh as a guide to show<br />

<strong>the</strong>m <strong>the</strong> way. He was a Mushrik from <strong>the</strong> Bahu Du'il bin Bakr tribe whose<br />

mo<strong>the</strong>r belonged to <strong>the</strong> Banu Sahm bin Amr tribe. <strong>The</strong>y gave him <strong>the</strong>ir two<br />

camels and he kept <strong>the</strong>m and grazed <strong>the</strong>m until <strong>the</strong> appointed day." ('I<br />

A reliable narration from Hadhrat Aa'isha states that when Hadhrat Abu<br />

Bakr !&3W asked Rasulullaah @# whe<strong>the</strong>r he could accompany him and<br />

Rasulullaah @@ agreed, Hadhrat Abu Bakr SGWZ said, "I have two camel that I<br />

have fed for <strong>the</strong> past six months for this purpose. Take any one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> two."<br />

Rasulullaah @@ said, "I shall ra<strong>the</strong>rsbuy it." Rasulullaah @% <strong>the</strong>n bought <strong>the</strong><br />

camel from Hadhrat Abu Bakr !&%% and <strong>the</strong>y both left. <strong>The</strong>y <strong>the</strong>n stayed in <strong>the</strong><br />

Hadhrat Asmaa UElWd!& whowas<strong>the</strong>daughter<strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Abu Bakr S,GW narrates<br />

that that when <strong>the</strong>y were staying in Makkah Rasulullaah @@ usually visited<br />

<strong>the</strong>m twice each day. However, one day he arrived in <strong>the</strong> afternoon. She said to<br />

Hadhrat Abu Bakr !B@W,"Fa<strong>the</strong>r, here comes Rasulullaah &%. May my parents<br />

be sacrificed! It must be something important that has brought him at this hour."<br />

Rasulullaah I&!,%% came and said, "Do yoy know that Allaah has permitted me to<br />

leave Makkah?" Hadhrat Abu Bakr asked, "May I accompany you, 0<br />

Rasulullaah m ? " "Certainly," replied Rasulullaah @@. Hadhrat Abu Bakr<br />

said, "I have two camels that I have been rearing from a long time in<br />

anticipation for this day. You may take one." Rasulullaah @%@ said, "Only at a<br />

price, Abu Bakr." Hadhrat Aby Bakr !EW,W.j replied, "May my parents be sacrificed<br />

for you! You may have it at a price if you,so wish."<br />

Hadhrat Asmaa @@W& says, ''We <strong>the</strong>n prepared <strong>the</strong> food for <strong>the</strong>ir journey. I cut<br />

my belt and used part <strong>of</strong> it to fasten <strong>the</strong>ir provisions." Rasulullaah and<br />

Hadhrat Abu Bakr ?3@4Uj <strong>the</strong>n left and stayed in a cave in <strong>the</strong> Thowr mountain.<br />

When <strong>the</strong>y arrived at <strong>the</strong> cave, Hadhrat Abu Bakr !BMM entered first and placed<br />

his finger in every hole, fearing that <strong>the</strong>re may be an insect <strong>the</strong>re (which #would<br />

harm Rasulullaah I&!,%%). When <strong>the</strong> Quraysh found out that <strong>the</strong>y were gone, <strong>the</strong>y<br />

set out in search <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m and fixed a reward <strong>of</strong> a hundred camels for anyone<br />

who captured Rasulullaah w. <strong>The</strong>y scoured <strong>the</strong> mountains <strong>of</strong> Makkah and<br />

-<br />

eventually reached <strong>the</strong> mountain where Rasulullaah and Hadhrat Abu Bakr<br />

WW4j were hiding. Referring to a person who was facing <strong>the</strong> cave, Hadhrat Abu<br />

Bakr said, "0 Rasulullaah #%!$I He will surely see us." "Never," replied<br />

Rasulullaah W , "because <strong>the</strong> angels are hiding us with <strong>the</strong>ir wings." Still<br />

facing <strong>the</strong> cave, <strong>the</strong> man <strong>the</strong>n sat down to pass urine. Rasulullaah @% said,<br />

"Had he seen-us, he would never have done that."<br />

<strong>The</strong>y stayed three nights in <strong>the</strong> cave and every evening Hadhrat Aamir bin<br />

Fuhayra 9!3&% would bring <strong>the</strong> goats <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Abu Bakr SIGw to <strong>the</strong>m. At<br />
