Rasulullaah $%! <strong>the</strong>n threw his shawl over Hadhrat Jareer %.lW and turned to<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong> i@Gwj and said, "Give due honour to <strong>the</strong> noble members <strong>of</strong> a<br />

community when <strong>the</strong>y come to you." Rasulullaah &!?@ <strong>the</strong>n said, "0 Jareer! I call<br />

you to testify that <strong>the</strong>re is none worthy <strong>of</strong> worship but Allaah, that I am Allaah's<br />

Rasul, that you believe in Allaah, in <strong>the</strong> Last Day, <strong>the</strong> predestination <strong>of</strong> all good<br />

and evil, that you perform Fardh salaah and that you pay <strong>the</strong> Fardh zakaah."<br />

Hadhrat Jareer SGw says that he complied with all <strong>of</strong> this and Rasulullaah I<br />

@$% never failed to smile with him each time he saw him.<br />

how to Call people towards <strong>the</strong> Faraa'idh <strong>of</strong> Islaam<br />

as he Leaves for Yemen<br />

Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas !ZiWw narrates that when Rasulullaah @@ sent<br />

Hadhrat Mu'aadh bin Jabal BGw to Yemen, he said to him, "You will certainly<br />

meet people from <strong>the</strong> Ahlul Kitaab. When you come to <strong>the</strong>m, invite <strong>the</strong>m to testify<br />

that <strong>the</strong>re is none worthy <strong>of</strong> worship but Allaah and that Muhammad is<br />

Allaah's Rasul. If <strong>the</strong>y obey you in this, inform <strong>the</strong>m that Allaah has made Fardh<br />

for <strong>the</strong>m <strong>the</strong> five salaah during each day and night. If <strong>the</strong>y obey you in this,<br />

inform <strong>the</strong>m that Allaah has made Fardh for <strong>the</strong>m zakaah that is taken from <strong>the</strong><br />

wealthy amongst <strong>the</strong>m and given to <strong>the</strong> poor amongst <strong>the</strong>m. If <strong>the</strong>y obey you in<br />

this, abstain from taking <strong>the</strong> best <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir wealth (as zakaah) and beware <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

curses <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> oppressed because <strong>the</strong>re is no barrier between it and Allaah." (2)<br />

Rasulullaah @@ Calls Hadhrat Howshab Dhi Dhulaym<br />

BC$% towards Fulfilling <strong>the</strong> Faraa'idh <strong>of</strong> Islaam<br />

Hadhrat Howshab Dhi Dhulaym BGw narrates that when Allaah granted<br />

dominance to Rasulullaah @@, he sent a letter with Abd Sharr and a band <strong>of</strong><br />

forty horsemen to Rasulullaah @&. When <strong>the</strong>y arrived in Madinah, Abd Sharr<br />

asked, "Which <strong>of</strong> you is Muhammad?" when someone pointed Rasulullaah @@<br />

out to him, he asked "What have you brought to us? I am willing to follow you if<br />

it is good." Rasulullaah @& said to him, "You should establish salaah, pay<br />

zakaah, safeguard <strong>the</strong> blood <strong>of</strong> people, enjoin good and forbid from evil." Abd<br />

Sharr, "This is fine indeed. Stretch out your hands so that I may pledge my<br />

allegiance to you." Rasulullaah @@ <strong>the</strong>n asked him what his name was. When<br />

he replied that it was Abd Sharr (servant <strong>of</strong> evil), Rasulullaah said, "No, you<br />

are ra<strong>the</strong>r Abd Khayr (servant <strong>of</strong> good)." Rasulullaah @$% <strong>the</strong>n accepted his<br />

pledge <strong>of</strong> allegiance to Islaam and replied to <strong>the</strong> letter <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Howshab Dhi<br />

Dhulaym BBw, who <strong>the</strong>n also accepted Imaan. (3)<br />
