Hadhrat Sa'd bin Khaythama W3W2 says, "1 was unable to march with<br />

~asulullaah@?%. When I entered my orchard, I saw a shelter sprinkled with<br />

water and my wife. I <strong>the</strong>n said, 'This is not fair! Rasulullaah@@ is suffering in<br />

hot winds and heat while I am enjoying shade and luxury.' I <strong>the</strong>n went to load my<br />

camel and took along some dates as my provisions. My wife called out, 'Where<br />

are you heading, 0 Abu Khaythama?' 'I am going to ~asulullaah@&!,' I replied."<br />

Narrating fur<strong>the</strong>r, Hadhrat Abu Khaythama 3,GM says, "I <strong>the</strong>n left to find<br />

~asulullaah@?%. On <strong>the</strong> road Umayr bin Wahab met me. I said to him, 'You are a<br />

brave man (and have nothing to fear being alone). I know where Rasulullaah@&<br />

is and I am at fault (for not joining <strong>the</strong> army sooner). Do ride behind me so that I<br />

may meet ~asulullaah@?@ alone.' Umayr did as I bid and as I set sight on <strong>the</strong><br />

Muslim army, <strong>the</strong>y also spotted me. ~asulullaah@@ said, 'Let it be Abu<br />

Khaythama.' I approached ~asulullaah@@ and said, 'I had almost destroyed<br />

myself, 0 ~asulullaaht$$&!' After narrating my story to him, ~asulullaah@& had<br />

good words to say and made du'aa for me." ('1<br />

Hadhrat Ibn Is'haaq says that <strong>the</strong> report reached him that Hadhrat Ibn Yaameen<br />

Nasri B,Gm once met Hadhrat Abu Layla 3,GW and Hadhrat Abdullaah bin<br />

siW, both <strong>of</strong> whom were weeping. Hadhrat Ibn Yaameen 3Wj<br />

asked, "What makes you two weep?" <strong>The</strong>y replied, "We approached<br />

~asulullaah~ to provide transport for us (so that we could proceed in Jihaad)<br />

but we found nothing with him that we could use as transport. We also have<br />

nothing which could enable us to leave (in Jihaad) with ~asulullaah@?&. Hadhrat<br />

Ibn Yaameen 3,Gw <strong>the</strong>n gave <strong>the</strong>m his camel and some dates for <strong>the</strong> journey's<br />

provision. <strong>The</strong> two <strong>the</strong>n left with ~asulullaahm.<br />

A narration <strong>of</strong> Yunus bin Bukayr also from Ibn Is'haaq adds that ano<strong>the</strong>r Sahabi<br />

by <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Ulba bin Zaid 3.Gw (who also did not have <strong>the</strong> means<br />

to proceed in Jihaad) left at night and engaged in salaah for a considerable<br />

portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> night. <strong>The</strong>reafter, he started weeping and said, "0 Allaah! You have<br />

issued <strong>the</strong> command to wage Jihaad and encouraged it. However, You have not<br />

given me <strong>the</strong> means with which to do it and have also not given to Your<br />

~asulullaah@&! <strong>the</strong> means to provide transport for me. Now I wish to distribute<br />

Tabook during autumn, as quoted in AlBidaaya wan Nihaaya (Vo1.5 Pg.7).<br />
