Rasulullaah @@ <strong>the</strong>n called for <strong>the</strong> two orphans to buy <strong>the</strong> land so that a Masjid<br />

could be built on it. <strong>The</strong>y said, "(Instead <strong>of</strong> selling <strong>the</strong> land) We would ra<strong>the</strong>r give<br />

it to you as a gift, 0 Rasulullaah w!" Rasulullaah k@$ refused to accept it from<br />

<strong>the</strong>m as a gift until <strong>the</strong>y he was able to buy it from <strong>the</strong>m. Rasulullaah @%%<strong>the</strong>n<br />

had <strong>the</strong> site fixed for a Masjid. dulullaah @@ himself carried <strong>the</strong> unbaked<br />

bricks for <strong>the</strong> Masjid with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong> B,Wj. As he carried <strong>the</strong> bricks he sang:<br />

"Lifting <strong>the</strong>se bricks is not like lifting <strong>the</strong> dates and grapes <strong>of</strong> Khaybar<br />

0 our Rabb! This is more virtuous and purer"<br />

Ano<strong>the</strong>r couplet Rasulullaah would recite was:<br />

0 Allaah! <strong>The</strong> true rewards are those <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ~akhirah<br />

So do shower Your mercy on <strong>the</strong> Ansaar and Muhaajirah (Muhaajireen)<br />

<strong>The</strong> narrator says that Rasulullaah @% also recited <strong>the</strong> poem <strong>of</strong> a Muslim whose<br />

name he was not told. Ibn Shihaab says, "Besides <strong>the</strong>se couplets, no<br />

Hadith has reached us in which, Rasulullaah @% has recited a complete<br />

Hadhrat Anas bin Maalik says, "I was one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> children running as <strong>the</strong><br />

people said, 'Muhammad &$?& has arrived!' I ran on but could not see anything.<br />

When <strong>the</strong> people again called, 'Muhammad @@ has arrived!' I ran again but<br />

could still not see anything. Rasulullaah @@ and his companion Hadhrat Abu<br />

Bakr BG5w eventually arrived and sat down in an uninhabited area <strong>of</strong> Madinah.<br />

<strong>The</strong>y <strong>the</strong>n sent a Bedouin to announce to <strong>the</strong> Ansaar that <strong>the</strong>y had arrived.<br />

Consequently, approximately five hundred <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Ansaar came out to welcome<br />

<strong>the</strong>m.*When <strong>the</strong> Ansaar came, <strong>the</strong>y said, 'Come along. You are both safe and will<br />

be obeyed.' Rasulullaah @$@ and his companion walked amongst us and <strong>the</strong><br />

people <strong>of</strong> Madinah all came out to welcome <strong>the</strong>m. In fact, even <strong>the</strong> young girls<br />

stood above <strong>the</strong> houses vying with each o<strong>the</strong>r to look as <strong>the</strong>y asked, 'Which <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong>m is Rasulullaah @$@? Which <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m is Rasulullaah w?' We had never<br />

seen a sight like this."'<br />

Hadhrat Anas WSw also said, "I have seen Rasulullaah @@ <strong>the</strong> day he arrived<br />

in Madinah and <strong>the</strong> day he passed away and have never seen any days like<br />

<strong>the</strong>m."(2)<br />

Hadhrat Aa'isha narrates that when Rasulullaah @% arrived in Madinah, <strong>the</strong><br />

women and children sang:<br />

"<strong>The</strong> full moon has risen ab~ve us from <strong>the</strong> Valley <strong>of</strong> Wadaa<br />
