Hadhrat Mundhir bin Jahm 4-4 narrates from Hadhrat Huwaytib bin Abdil<br />

Uzza WW$ that he was terrified when Rasulullaah entered Makkah when<br />

it was conquered. He left hi's house and scattered his family in various places<br />

where <strong>the</strong>y would be safe. He <strong>the</strong>n hid himself in an orchard belonging to <strong>the</strong> Auf<br />

-<br />

clan. He narrates, "One day, Abu Dharr suddenly arrived. We had been good<br />

friends before and friendship always bears fruit. However, as soon as I saw him, I<br />

started to run away." Hadhrat Abu Dharr 9,- called out, "0 Abu Muhammad!"<br />

When Hadhrat Huwaytib %#%&j responded, Hadhrat Abu Dharr BaW asked,,<br />

"What is <strong>the</strong> matter?" "Fear," replied, Hadhrat Huwaytib ~,GWii. "Have no fear,"<br />

said Hadhrat Abu Dharr B,W, "You have amnesty in <strong>the</strong> protection <strong>of</strong> Allaah."<br />

Hadhrat Huwaytib !%U4&j> <strong>the</strong>n went back and greeted ~adhrat Abu Dharr<br />

w3.<br />

"You may go home," said Hadhrat Abu Dharr %%&Mj. "How am I to go home?"<br />

asked Hadhrat Huwaytib S,Wj, "By Allaah! I do not see myself returning home<br />

alive. I shall be met on <strong>the</strong> street and killed or be killed by someone barging into.<br />

my house. In addition, my family are scattered in various places." Hadhrat Abu<br />

Dharr B,w said, "<strong>The</strong>n ga<strong>the</strong>r your family in o?e place and I shall escort you<br />

home." Hadhrat Abu Dharr W3@!3 <strong>the</strong>n took Hadhrat Huwaytib !&W home<br />

and announced, "Huwaytib has been granted amnesty and may not be harmed."<br />

When Hadhrat Abu Dharr %UWj went to Rasulullaah @# and informed him<br />

about <strong>the</strong> events, he said, "Has everyone not been granted amnesty besides those<br />

whose execution I have ordered?'.' This statement put Hadhrat Huwaytib t's heart<br />

at ease and he took his family home.<br />

Hadhrat Abu Dharr B,- again came to Hadhrat Huwaytib %MWi and said, "0<br />

Abu Muhammad! Until when? Where to? You have participated in all <strong>the</strong> battles.<br />

Although you have lost tremendous good, much good is still left for you. Go to<br />

Rasulullaah &%% and accept Islaam. You will <strong>the</strong>n be able to live in peace.<br />

Rasulullaah w is <strong>the</strong> most righteous <strong>of</strong> people, <strong>the</strong> one who best maintains<br />

family ties and <strong>the</strong> most tolerant <strong>of</strong> all people. His honour is yours and his<br />

dignity is yours." Hadhrat Huwaytib B,Wj <strong>the</strong>n said to Hadhrat Abu Dharr<br />

B,w, "I am prepared to accompany you to Rasulullaah w." <strong>The</strong> two <strong>the</strong>n<br />

met Rasulullaah &%% .at Bat'haa while Hadhrat Abu Bakr !2@R&j and Hadhrat<br />

Umar !&IS5 were with him. Hadhrat Huwaytib %MW <strong>the</strong>n asked Hadhrat Abu<br />
