@?& and asked, "Tell me what we receive in exchange for <strong>the</strong>se illnesses that<br />

keep afflicting us?" Rasulullaah @$$ replied, "<strong>The</strong>y annul sins." He Ubay %$CWj<br />

asked, "Even if it is something mild?" Rasulullaah @@ said, "Even if it be a prick<br />

<strong>of</strong> a thorn or something milder." It was <strong>the</strong>n that Hadhrat Ubay ~,Ghx prayed to<br />

Allaah that fever should never leave him until his death but should not prevent<br />

him from Hajj, Umrah, Jihaad in <strong>the</strong> path <strong>of</strong> Allaah or salaah in congregation.<br />

Whenever someone touched him, <strong>the</strong> heat <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> fever could be felt. This<br />

continued until <strong>the</strong> day he passed away.<br />

Enduring Injuries while in Jihaad in <strong>the</strong><br />

path <strong>of</strong> Allaah<br />

<strong>The</strong> Injuries that Rasulullaah @g Suffered<br />

Hadhrat Jundub bin Sufyaan 3,CW reports that as Rasulullaah @@ was<br />

walking, his foot struck a stone and he fell. This caused his finger to start<br />

bleeding. Rasulullaah @$% <strong>the</strong>n said:<br />

You are merely a finger that is bleeding<br />

But whatever you suffer is in <strong>the</strong> path <strong>of</strong> Allaah<br />

<strong>The</strong> Hadith <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Anas 3Ch&j has already passed in <strong>the</strong> chapter entitled<br />

"Rasulullaah @@ Endures Hardship and Difficulty when Giving Da'wah towards<br />

Allaah" ('I. <strong>The</strong>re he narrates that <strong>the</strong> canine teeth <strong>of</strong> Rasulullaah @@! were<br />

broken during <strong>the</strong> Battle <strong>of</strong> Uhud and he was also severely injured on <strong>the</strong> head.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Hadith is narrated by Bukhari, Muslim and o<strong>the</strong>rs.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Hadith has also passed(3) in which Hadhrat Aa'isha @GWj narrates that<br />

whenever Hadhrat Abu Bakr ~C&G spoke about <strong>the</strong> Battle <strong>of</strong> Uhud, he would<br />

say, "Every credit for that day goes to Talha." Later on in <strong>the</strong> narration, Hadhrat<br />

Abu Bakr "-8 -*"a ',<br />

S.bwj says fur<strong>the</strong>r, "When we reached Rasulullaah w, his canine<br />

tooth was already broken and his face was injured when two links <strong>of</strong> his helmet<br />

pierced his cheeks. Rasulullaah @% said, 'See to your companion!' Rasulullaah<br />

was referring to Talha who had become weak due to loss <strong>of</strong> blood. Later on<br />

in <strong>the</strong> Hadith, Hadhrat Abu Bakr %Cwj continues, "After tending to Rasulullaah<br />

m, we went to Talha who had fallen into a ditch. He had suffered seventy odd<br />

(Vol.1 Pg.255).<br />
