Chapter Four<br />

<strong>The</strong> Chapter Concerning Hijrah<br />

(Migration)<br />

fact that doing this was more beloved to <strong>the</strong>m than <strong>the</strong> world and all its<br />

pleasures and that <strong>the</strong>y gave preference to <strong>the</strong> Deen above mundane pleasures<br />

and were not concerned when <strong>the</strong>se pleasures were lost. <strong>The</strong> chapter also<br />

emphasises how <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong> i@- travelled from place to place to protect<br />

<strong>the</strong> Deen from evil, as if <strong>the</strong>y were specially created for <strong>the</strong> Aakhirah and were<br />

<strong>The</strong> Hijrah <strong>of</strong> Rasulullaah<br />

Hadhrat Abu Bakr 9,Gwj'<br />

and<br />

<strong>The</strong> Leaders <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> araysh Conspire Against<br />

Rasulullaah<br />

Hadhrat Urwa @Wj narrates that after <strong>the</strong> Hajj season, Rasulullaah @%@ was in.<br />

Makkah during <strong>the</strong> remaining days <strong>of</strong> Dhul ~ijjah, Muharram and Safar. <strong>The</strong><br />

Mushrikeen <strong>the</strong>n ga<strong>the</strong>red to conspire against him, thinking that he would soon<br />

be leaving Makkah since <strong>the</strong>y knew that Allaah had created a place <strong>of</strong> safety and<br />

protection for him in Madinah. <strong>The</strong>y had also found out that <strong>the</strong> Ansaar had<br />

accepted Islaam and that <strong>the</strong> Muhaajireen were going to <strong>the</strong>m. <strong>The</strong> Mushrikeen<br />

<strong>the</strong>refore planned to capture Rasulullaah @$% and <strong>the</strong>n ei<strong>the</strong>r assassinate him,<br />

imprison him(')., exile him or keep him tied up. Allaah informed Rasulullaah k!%!<br />

about <strong>the</strong>ir plot and revealed <strong>the</strong> following verse:<br />
