whoever He wills from whoever H; wills). (Do not forget) <strong>The</strong> day (<strong>of</strong><br />

Q~yaamah) when <strong>the</strong> earth will be changed into ano<strong>the</strong>r earth, and <strong>the</strong><br />

skies (will also be changed). <strong>The</strong>y will <strong>the</strong>n present <strong>the</strong>mselves before<br />

Allaah, <strong>the</strong> One, <strong>the</strong> Most Powerful. On that day you will see <strong>the</strong><br />

criminals (Kuflaaar) shack$ed toge<strong>the</strong>r in chains. <strong>The</strong>ir garments will be<br />

<strong>of</strong> tar (which smells terribIy and burns easi/yl and <strong>the</strong> Fire will cover<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir faces. (<strong>The</strong>y will &esent <strong>the</strong>mselve~ before Alaah) So that Allaah<br />

may repay every soul for what (good or evil) it had earned. Indeed<br />

Allaah is swift in reckoning. This (Qurban) is a message for people so<br />

that <strong>the</strong>y are warned by it and so that <strong>the</strong>y may know (by <strong>the</strong> pro<strong>of</strong>3<br />

and examples it contains) that He (Maah) is but One Ilaah, and so that<br />

<strong>the</strong> intelligent ones take heed (listen, learn and prepare for <strong>the</strong><br />

Aakhirah). {Surah lbraheem verses 35-52)<br />

<strong>The</strong>ir hearts were moved by <strong>the</strong>se words <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Qur'aan and <strong>the</strong>y accepted<br />

Islaam. As <strong>the</strong>y were engaged in conversation with Rasulullaah w, Hadhrat<br />

Abbaas &IWj passed by. Recognising <strong>the</strong> voice <strong>of</strong> Rasulullaah w, he said, "0<br />

my nephew! Who are <strong>the</strong>se people with you?" Rasulullaah @& said, "<strong>The</strong>se are<br />

<strong>the</strong> residents <strong>of</strong> Yathrib from <strong>the</strong> Aws and Khazraj tribes. I gave <strong>the</strong>m <strong>the</strong> same<br />

Da'wah that I had ghen to so many o<strong>the</strong>r tribes before <strong>the</strong>m and <strong>the</strong>y accepted<br />

my message and believed what I said. <strong>The</strong>y have also mentioned that <strong>the</strong>y shall<br />

take me back with <strong>the</strong>m to <strong>the</strong>ir city."<br />

Hadhrat Abbaas W- descended from his animal, tied it up and said, "0 people<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Aws and Khazraj! This is my nephew and <strong>the</strong> person I love most. If you<br />

accept his message, believe him and intend to take him with you to your city, I<br />

want you to make a promise so that my heart may be contented. Promise me<br />

that you shall never desert him and never betray him because your neighbours<br />

are <strong>the</strong> Jews and <strong>the</strong> Jews are his enemies. .I fear that <strong>the</strong> Jews may connive<br />

against him."<br />

When Hadhrat Abbaas !&W!G expressed his mistrust in Hadhrat As'ad bin<br />

Zuraarah and his companions, Hadhrat As'ad %W&% felt insulted and<br />

said, "0 Rasulullaah @@! Permit me to reply to him in a manner that will nei<strong>the</strong>r<br />

upset you nor appear distasteful to you. However, <strong>the</strong> reply will confirm that we<br />

have accepted your message and it will express our Imaan in you." Rasulullaah<br />

@@ said, 'You may reply to him for I have complete confidence in you."<br />

Facing Rasulullaah @%, Hadhrat As'ad bin Zuraarah %33W said, "0 Rasulullaah<br />

@%%! <strong>The</strong>re is a path to every call. While some paths are easy, o<strong>the</strong>rs are difficult.<br />

Today you have called Zls towards something that is both new and difficult for<br />

people to accept. You have called us to forsake our religions and to follow you in<br />

your Deen. This is not an easy task. However, we have accepted your Call. You<br />

have called us to severe all' ties we have with both close and distant relatives (by<br />

following you ra<strong>the</strong>r than <strong>the</strong>m). This is not an easy task. However, we have<br />

accepted your call. You have invited us to Islaam whereas we are a strong group<br />

living in a place that is powerful and mighty (where our lives and properties are
