Rasulullaah @i%% Invites Hadhrat Abu Quhaafa<br />

!&g5$ to Islaam<br />

Hadhrat Asma bint Abi Bakr reports that it was on that day that Muslims<br />

conquered Makkah when Rasulullaah @i& said to Hadhrat Abu Quhaafa<br />

"Accept Islaam and remain in peace."<br />

Hadhrat Asma bint Abi Bakr @33&6 also reports that when Rasulullaah @@ entered<br />

Makkah and was peacefully sitting in <strong>the</strong> Masjidul Haraam, Hadhrat Abu Bakr<br />

?3@W brought his fa<strong>the</strong>r Abu Quhaafa to him. When Rasulullaah @% saw him,<br />

he said, "0 Abu Bakr! Why did you not leave <strong>the</strong> respected man and take me to<br />

him instead?" Hadhrat Abu Bakr %8Z&% replied, "0 Rasulullaah @%%! It is more<br />

fitting that he comes to you ra<strong>the</strong>r than you go to him."<br />

Rasuiullaah @?@ made <strong>the</strong> old man sit in front <strong>of</strong> him, placed his hand on <strong>the</strong><br />

old man's heart and said, "0 Abu Quhaafa! Accept Islaam and remain in peace."<br />

Consequently, he accepted Islaam and recited <strong>the</strong> testimony <strong>of</strong> Imaan (<strong>the</strong><br />

Kalimah). When Hadhrat Abu Quhaafa ?ZlW was brought to Rasulullaah m,<br />

his hair and beard were as white as <strong>the</strong> 'Thughaama' plant. Rasulullaah @@<br />

advised him saying, "Change <strong>the</strong> colour <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se hairs but stay away from<br />

black." (2)<br />

<strong>The</strong> Da'wah Rasulullaah @@% Gave to Individuals<br />

who did not Accept Islaam<br />

Rasulullaah @%$ Invites Abu Jahal to Islaam<br />

Hadhrat Mughiera bin Shu'ba W,- narrates that <strong>the</strong> first time he came to<br />

know who Rasulullaah @% was when Rasulullaah met him walking with<br />

Abu Jahal in one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> gullies <strong>of</strong> Makkah. Rasulullaah @@ said to Abu fahal, "0<br />

Abul Hakam! Come to Allaah and His Rasool m. I am inviting you to Allaah."<br />

Abu Jahal replied, "0 Muhammad! Will you not refrain from insulting our gods?<br />

DO you want us to testify that you have conveyed <strong>the</strong> message? We <strong>the</strong>n testify<br />

that you have conveyed <strong>the</strong> message. I swear by Allaah that I would have<br />

certainly followed you if I knew that whatever you say is <strong>the</strong> truth."<br />

Hadhrat Mughiera bin Shu'ba says that when Rasulullaah 6@ had left<br />

<strong>the</strong>m, Abu Jahal said to him, "By Allaah! I know for sure that whatever he says<br />

is <strong>the</strong> truth. However, <strong>the</strong>re is only one thing that prevents me from accepting.<br />

(Rasulullaah @% belongs to <strong>the</strong> Bani Qusay family and) When <strong>the</strong> Bani Qusay<br />

said, 'Keeping <strong>the</strong> keys to <strong>the</strong> Kabah is our duty,' we (<strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r families <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Quraysh) accepted. <strong>The</strong>reafter when <strong>the</strong>y said, 'Giving water to <strong>the</strong> people<br />

performing Hajj is our duty,' we again accepted. <strong>The</strong>reafter when <strong>the</strong>y said,<br />

'Chairing <strong>the</strong> public meetings is our duty,' we again accepted. <strong>The</strong>reafter when<br />

<strong>the</strong>y said, 'Holding <strong>the</strong> flag during times <strong>of</strong> war is our duty,' we again accepted.<br />

After that, <strong>the</strong>y fed people and we also fed people until we .were almost on par<br />

and <strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong>y say, 'We have a Nabi among us.' By Allaah! This I shall never<br />
