Anas has narrated similar report with <strong>the</strong> addition that it was on that<br />

occasion that Allaah revealed <strong>the</strong> following verse <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Qur'aan:<br />

From mankind is he who would sell himself seeking Allaah's pleasure.<br />

and Allaah is Most Compassionate towards His bondsmen. {Surah<br />

Baqarah, verse 207)<br />

When Rasulullaah @!@ saw Hadhrat Suhayb %,-, he said, "Your transaction<br />

has been pr<strong>of</strong>itable, 0 Abu Yahya!" Rasulullaah <strong>the</strong>n recited <strong>the</strong> above verse<br />

to him. (2)<br />

Hadhrat Suhayb BGW narrates that when he decided to migrate from Makkah<br />

to RasuluMaah m, <strong>the</strong> Quraysh said to him, "0 Suhayb! When you came to us,<br />

you had no wealth. You are now leaving as a wealthy man. By Allaah! We can<br />

never allow this!" Hadhrat Suhayb %,k- proposed to <strong>the</strong>m, 'Will you let me go<br />

if .I give you all my wealth?" When <strong>the</strong>y agreed, he gave his wealth to <strong>the</strong>m and<br />

<strong>the</strong>y let him go. By <strong>the</strong> time Hadhrat Suhayb ?B3LGj reached Madinah,<br />

Rasulullaah was already aware <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> incident'and said, "You've earned a<br />

grand pr<strong>of</strong>it, q Suhayb! You've earned a grand pr<strong>of</strong>it, 0 Suhayb!" (3)<br />

<strong>The</strong> Hijrah <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar ~,@@&<br />

Hadhrat Muhammad bin Zaid narrates that whenever Hadhrat Abdullaah bin<br />

Umar 4= passed by his house (in Makkah) from which he migrated, he would<br />

close his eyes and would not even look at it or stop <strong>the</strong>re. (4) Ano<strong>the</strong>r narration(5)<br />

states that whenever Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar !Zd,W% spoke about<br />

Rasulullaah w, he would cry and whenever he passed his house (in Makkah),<br />

he would close his eyes.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Hijrah <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Jahash %%w<br />

Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas ?ilW&j narrates that Hadhrat Abdullaah bin<br />

Jahash B,kW2 (actually his bro<strong>the</strong>r Abd bin Jahash W3W, as it will become<br />

clear from <strong>the</strong> next Hadith) was <strong>the</strong> last person to migrate to Madinah and had<br />

become blind. When he resolved to migrate, his wife who was <strong>the</strong> daughter <strong>of</strong><br />

Abu Sufyaan bin Harb bin Umayyah disliked it. She advised him to ra<strong>the</strong>r migrate<br />

to someone else o<strong>the</strong>r than Rasulullaah w. (Disregarding her advice) He took<br />

his family and wealth and secretly left <strong>the</strong> Quraysh and came to Rasulullaah @&<br />

in Madinah. (His bro<strong>the</strong>r-in-law) Abu Sufyaan (became very angry and)<br />
