Allaah's servant and Rasul.<br />

A narration <strong>of</strong> Bayhaqi adds that everyone from <strong>the</strong> youngsters to <strong>the</strong> elders as<br />

well as men and women all pledged <strong>the</strong>ir allegiance to Islaam and to <strong>the</strong><br />

Shahaadah at <strong>the</strong> hands <strong>of</strong> Rasulullaah &%@. (2)<br />

Hadhrat Mujaashi ag@@$ and his Bro<strong>the</strong>r a,%&%<br />

pledge allegiance to. Islaam and Jihaad<br />

Hadhrat Mujaashi bin Mas'ood ~i<br />

narrates that he and his bro<strong>the</strong>r went to<br />

'Rasulullaah @%% and he said, "Accept our pledge <strong>of</strong> allegiance to Hijrah."<br />

Rasulullaah @% said to <strong>the</strong>m, "Hijrah (to Madinah) has finished with those who<br />

have already made Hijrah (<strong>the</strong> compulsion to migrate to Madinah no longer<br />

exists)." When Hadhrat Mujaashi W3= asked what was it that he could pledge<br />

his allegiance to, Rasulullaah &%% replied, "Pledge your allegiance to Islaam<br />

and to Jihaad." (3)<br />

Hadhrat Jareer bin Abdillaah pledges allegiance to<br />

Islaam<br />

Hadhrat Ziyaad bin Ilaaqa narrates that when Hadhrat Mughiera bin Shu'ba<br />

Si3w passed away, he heard Hadhrat Jareer bin Abdillaah %i$GW address <strong>the</strong><br />

people saying, "I advise you to fear <strong>the</strong> One Allaah Who has no partner and to<br />

remain graceful and calm. With <strong>the</strong>se hands <strong>of</strong> mine did I pledge allegiance to<br />

Islaam at <strong>the</strong> hands <strong>of</strong> Rasulullaah and he stipulated that I always remain a<br />

well-wisher for every Muslim. I swear by <strong>the</strong> Rabb <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Kabah that I wish well<br />

for each one <strong>of</strong> you." He <strong>the</strong>n sought forgiveness from AHaah and descended<br />

from <strong>the</strong> pulpit. (4)<br />

Bayhaqi and o<strong>the</strong>rs have narrated from Hadhrat Ziyaad bin Haarith Sudaa'ee<br />

%4%% that he approached Rasulullaah and pledged allegiance to Islaam.<br />

<strong>The</strong> rest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Hadith has already been mentioned in <strong>the</strong> Chapter <strong>of</strong> Da'wah. (5)<br />

Pledging Allegiance to <strong>the</strong> Injunctions <strong>of</strong> Islaam<br />

Hadhrat Basheer bin Khasaasiyyah 9)2i$!&@j Pledges<br />

Allegiance to <strong>the</strong> Fundamentals <strong>of</strong> Islaam as well<br />

as Sadaqah and Jihaad<br />

Hadhrat Basheer bin Khasaasiyyah B,Wj narrates that when he approached<br />

Rasulullaah to pledge his allegiance, he asked, "0 Rasulullaah w! To<br />

commented on <strong>the</strong> chain <strong>of</strong> narrators.<br />

(2) Al Bidaaya wan Nibaaya (Vo1.4 Pg.318). Tabraani has also quoted <strong>the</strong> Hadith ,as mentioned in<br />

~ajma'uz Zawaa'id (Vo1.6 Pg.37). O<strong>the</strong>rs have also narrated it as mentioned in Kanzul Ummaal<br />

(Vol.1 Pg.82).<br />

(3) Bukhari and Muslim as narrated by Allaama Ayni (Vo1.7 Pg.16). Ibn Abi Shayba has also narrated<br />

<strong>the</strong> Hadith and added that when one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> narrators asked <strong>the</strong> bro<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Mujaashi<br />

4?&i about <strong>the</strong> incident, he confirmed it. This is reported in Kanzul Ummaal(Vol. l Pgs.26,83).<br />
