Performing Salaah and Eating Upon<br />

Returning from <strong>the</strong> path <strong>of</strong> Allaah<br />

Rasulullaah @@ Performs Salaah upon his Return<br />

Hadhrat Ka'b BGWj narrates that whenever Rasulullaah @@$ returned from a<br />

journey during <strong>the</strong> morning, he would first enter <strong>the</strong> Masjid and perform two<br />

Rakaahs salaah before being seated. ( I)<br />

Ano<strong>the</strong>r narration from Hadhrat Jaabir ?&w states that he accompanied<br />

Rasulullaah on a journey and when <strong>the</strong>y returned, Rasulullaah said to<br />

him, "Enter <strong>the</strong> Masjid and perform two Rakaahs salaah." (2)<br />

Slaughtering an Animal upon Returning to Feed People<br />

Hadhrat Jaabir %Gw has also narrated that when Rasulullaah &%?@ once<br />

returned to Madinah, he slaughtered a cow or a camel. Ano<strong>the</strong>r narration quotes<br />

that Hadhrat Jaabir ~ B said, M "Rasulullaah k!&$ purchased a camel from me<br />

for two Awqiya and a Dirham or for two Dirhams. When he reached Siraar,<br />

Rasulullaah @%% had a cow slaughtered and <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong> @Wj ate from it.<br />

<strong>The</strong>reafter when he reached Madinah, Rasulullaah @$$ instructed me to first go<br />

<strong>the</strong> Masjid to perform two Rakaahs salaah. Rasulullaah t@ <strong>the</strong>n weighed out<br />

<strong>the</strong> price for my camel and paid me." (3)<br />

Women Proceed in <strong>the</strong> path <strong>of</strong> Allaah<br />

Hadhrat Aa'isha @W&5 <strong>Part</strong>icipated in <strong>the</strong> Banu Mustaliq expedition<br />

Hadhrat Aa'isha says, "Whenever Rasulullaah @$@ embarked on an<br />

expedition, he would draw lots between his wives and whoever's name was<br />

drawn would accompany him. When <strong>the</strong> Banu Mustaliq expedition was to take<br />

place, Rasulullaah @?% again drew lots as he usually did. This time my name<br />

emerged as <strong>the</strong> one to accompany him. Rasulullaah @% <strong>the</strong>refore took me<br />

along. During those times women ate just enough to sustain <strong>the</strong>mselves. <strong>The</strong><br />

flab on <strong>the</strong>ir bodies was <strong>the</strong>refore less and <strong>the</strong>y were lighter in weight. For this<br />

reason I would sit in my carriage when it was loaded on my camel. <strong>The</strong> men who<br />

fastened <strong>the</strong> carriage to <strong>the</strong> camel for me would lift <strong>the</strong> carriage from <strong>the</strong> bottom,<br />

lift me up and place <strong>the</strong> carriage on to <strong>the</strong> camel. <strong>The</strong>y would <strong>the</strong>n secure it with<br />

ropes, take <strong>the</strong> camel by <strong>the</strong> head and lead it along.<br />

After <strong>the</strong> journey was done, Rasulullaah @@ left (for Madinah) and we were<br />

close to Madinah when we set up came and spent part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> night <strong>the</strong>re. When<br />

<strong>the</strong> announcer announced that it was time to depart, everyone got ready to move.<br />

Wearing a necklace <strong>of</strong> mine that was decorated with onyx from <strong>the</strong> Yemeni tribe<br />

<strong>of</strong> Dhifaar, I went (out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> camp) to relieve myself. When I had completed, <strong>the</strong><br />

necklace had slipped from my neck without me knowing it. It was only after<br />

returning to my carriage that I felt my neck and could not find it. <strong>The</strong> people had<br />
