intention <strong>of</strong> migrating, Hadhrat Abu Bakr W@!& was one or two days journey<br />

away when Ibnud ~aghiria met him. Ibnud Daghina was <strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong> leader <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Ahaabeesh (various clans that form part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>'qaara tribe). When he asked<br />

.HadhratAbu'Bakr where hewas headed, Hadhrat Abu Bakr W ,W replied,<br />

"My people have exiled<br />

me afterf harassing me and making things difficult for<br />

me." Ibnud Daghina said, "Why should <strong>the</strong>y do this? By Allaah! You are <strong>the</strong> pride<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> family, you assist in all good causes, you are always doing good and you<br />

give people what <strong>the</strong>y cannot find. Return (to Makkah) for you are under my<br />

protection."<br />

Hadhrat Abu Bakr <strong>the</strong>refore returned with Ibnud Daghina and when <strong>the</strong>y<br />

entered Makkah, Ibnud Daghina stood beside ~adhrat Abu Bakr @,w and<br />

announced, "0 Quraysh! 1 have taken <strong>the</strong> son <strong>of</strong> Abu Quhaafa into my protection<br />

so everyone should treat him well." <strong>The</strong> people <strong>the</strong>refore stopped harassing<br />

Hadhrat Abu Bakr @,W>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> concluding part <strong>of</strong> this narration states that Ibnud Daghina said, "0 Abu<br />

Bakr! I did not grant you amnesty so that you may annoy your people. <strong>The</strong>y<br />

dislike <strong>the</strong> place you have adopted (in your courtyard) and it annoys <strong>the</strong>m. Go<br />

into your house and do as you please." Hadhrat Abu Bakr S- said, "Should I<br />

ra<strong>the</strong>r absolve you <strong>of</strong> your protection and content myself with <strong>the</strong> protection <strong>of</strong><br />

Allaah?" Ibnud Daghina said, "Do absolve me <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> protection I have granted<br />

you." When Hadhrat Abu Bakr %U&% absolved Ibnud Daghina, he stood up and<br />

announced, "0 assembly <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Quraysh! <strong>The</strong> son <strong>of</strong> Abu Quhaafa has absolved<br />

me <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> protection I have granted him. You may do as you please with him." ('I<br />

. Ano<strong>the</strong>r narration <strong>of</strong> Ibn Is'haaq states that after Hadhrat Abu Bakr %Wj gave<br />

up <strong>the</strong> protection that Ibnud Daghina had given him, one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> foolish people<br />

from <strong>the</strong> Quraysh who passed him on <strong>the</strong> way to <strong>the</strong> Kabah threw some sand on<br />

his head. When Waleed bin Mughiera or Aas bin Waa'il passed by, Hadhrat Abu<br />

Bakr @,w said to him, "Did you not see what that fool did?" <strong>The</strong> reply was,<br />

"You have done this to yourself.'' Hadhrat Abu Bakr B,w <strong>the</strong>n said, "0 my<br />

Rabb! How tolerant are You! 0 my Rabb! How tolerant are You! 0 my Rabb! How<br />

tolerant are YOU!" (2)<br />

<strong>The</strong> narration repcirted by Hadhrat Asmaa !%W&$ has already passed(3) which<br />

states, "<strong>The</strong> shouts reached my fa<strong>the</strong>r Abu Bakr as <strong>the</strong> people called out, 'Help<br />

your friend!'. As my fa<strong>the</strong>r left us (I can still clearly recall that) his hair had four<br />

locks and he was saying:<br />

Will you kill a man {or saying, 'haah is my ~abb': when he has brought<br />

<strong>the</strong> truth to you from your Rabb?' {Surah Mu'min, verse 28)<br />

<strong>The</strong> mob <strong>the</strong>n lei ~asululiaah &@ and turned on Abu Bakr. When he returned<br />
