Hadhrat Baraa bin Aazib ~ , = narrates that he was among <strong>the</strong> group that<br />

~asulullaah @@ dispatched to Yemen under <strong>the</strong> leadership <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Khaalid<br />

bin Waleed @3W to invite t$e people <strong>of</strong> Yemen to Islaam <strong>The</strong>y stayed <strong>the</strong>re for<br />

six months but no one wasiprepared to accept Islaam. <strong>The</strong>reafter, Rasulullaah<br />

p&g sent Hadhrat Ali ",' ""'"<br />

&sJl;;&j with instructions to relieve Hadhrat Khaalid bin<br />

Waleed $3Gm and to send him back withahis men except those who preferred<br />

to remain behind with Hadhrat Ali 9,WLG.<br />

Hadhrat Baraa bin Aazib 9.C.Y& narrates that he was one <strong>of</strong> those who remained<br />

behind with Hadhrat Ali WG%5. When Hadhrat Ali %$GW and <strong>the</strong> Muslims drew<br />

close to <strong>the</strong> people <strong>of</strong> Yemen, <strong>the</strong>y also marched forward to meet <strong>the</strong> Muslims.<br />

S,hi <strong>the</strong>n stepped forward and led <strong>the</strong> Muslims in salaah.<br />

<strong>The</strong>reafter, he formed <strong>the</strong> Muslims into a single row, stepped forward in front <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Muslims and read ouy <strong>the</strong> letter that Rasulullaah had written. In<br />

response to this, <strong>the</strong> entire Hamdaan tribe accepted Islaam. Hadhrat Ali %lGw<br />

<strong>the</strong>n wrote to Rasulullaah to inform him that <strong>the</strong> Hamdaan tribe had<br />

accepted Islaam. When Rasulullaah @@ read <strong>the</strong> letter, he fell into Sajdah and<br />

<strong>the</strong>n lifted his head and prayed, "Peace be to <strong>the</strong> Hamdaan! Peace be to <strong>the</strong><br />

Hamdaan!" (')<br />

Ibn Is'haaq narrates that Rasulullaah @@ once dispatched Hadhrat Khaalid bin<br />

9sJl;;& to Najraan with instructions to invite <strong>the</strong> Banu Haarith bin Ka'b to<br />

Islaam for three days before engaging <strong>the</strong>m in battle. Rasulullaah @@ told him<br />

that if <strong>the</strong> people accept Islaam, he should accept it from <strong>the</strong>m, o<strong>the</strong>rwise he<br />

should commence battle proceedings. Hadhrat Khaalid bin Waleed ~,Gi;ws left<br />

Madinah and when he arrived in Najraan, he sent riders in every direction to<br />

meet <strong>the</strong> people and invite <strong>the</strong>m to Islaam saying, "0 people! Acept Islaam and<br />

remain in peace." Consequently, all <strong>the</strong> people accepted Islaam and entered <strong>the</strong><br />

Deen <strong>the</strong>y had beeninvited towards. Hadhrat Khaalid bin Waleed %BW stayed<br />

with <strong>the</strong> people to teach <strong>the</strong>m Islaam, <strong>the</strong> Qur'aan and <strong>the</strong> Sunnah <strong>of</strong><br />

Rasulullaah @?%! according to <strong>the</strong> directives that Rasulullaah @@ had given to<br />

him in <strong>the</strong> event that <strong>the</strong> people accepted Islaam without fighting. Hadhrat<br />

Khaalid bin Waleed !&G$3G <strong>the</strong> wrote <strong>the</strong> following letter Rasulullaah @@:<br />
