Preparing and Assisting a Person Going<br />

out in <strong>the</strong> path <strong>of</strong> Allaah<br />

Rasulullaah @@ Gives his Weapons to Hadhrat<br />

Usaama a%@$+or to Hadhrat Ali %%($$2<br />

Hadhrat Jabala bin Haaritha @lSWj narrates that whenever Rasulullaah k%%$ was<br />

not participating in a battle, he would give his weapons to Hadhrat Usaama<br />

B,G$&+j' or to Hadhrat Ali g@#&j'. (2)<br />

An Ansaari gives everything he has Prepared to<br />

ano<strong>the</strong>r Person when he Fell ill.<br />

Hadhrat Anas !WW reports that a youngster from <strong>the</strong> Banu Aslam tribe said, "0<br />

Rasulullaah @&%! I wish to proceed in Jihaad but do not have any wealth with<br />

which to make <strong>the</strong> necessary preparations." Rasulullaah @$% sent him to a<br />

certain Ansaari saying, "He had made <strong>the</strong> necessary preparations for Jihaad but<br />

had fallen ill. Tell him that Rasulullaah k%%$ has sent Salaams to him and ask<br />

him to give you whatever he had prepared." <strong>The</strong> youngster went to <strong>the</strong> Ansaari<br />

and conveyed <strong>the</strong> message to him. <strong>The</strong> Ansaari <strong>the</strong>n said to his wife, "Give him<br />

everything you have prepared for me without holding anything back. By<br />

Allaah! Allaah will never bless anything that you hold back from him." (3)<br />

Referring a Person Going out in <strong>the</strong> path <strong>of</strong> Allaah<br />

to Someone who can Assist him<br />

Hadhrat Abu Mas'ood Ansaari ~ ,Gw narrates that a man came to Rasulullaah<br />

@$% and said, "Please provide transport for me because my animal has died." "I<br />

have nothing to give you," submitted Rasulullaah &@. Ano<strong>the</strong>r Sahabi said, "0<br />

Rasulullaah w! I shall refer him to someone who can provide transport for<br />

him." Rasulullaah 6?@ <strong>the</strong>n commented, ''<strong>The</strong> one who points o<strong>the</strong>rs towards<br />

good shall have <strong>the</strong> reward <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> one who actually carries it out." (4)<br />

Rasulullaah @@ Encourages <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong> &E@@@j<br />

to Assist those Proceeding in <strong>the</strong> path <strong>of</strong> Allaah<br />

Hadhrat Jaabir bin Abdullaah 3,Wj reports that when Rasulullaah @$% was<br />

once embarking on an expedition, he said, "0 assembly <strong>of</strong> Muhaajireen and<br />

Ansaar! <strong>The</strong>re are many <strong>of</strong> your bro<strong>the</strong>rs who have nei<strong>the</strong>r wealth nor families<br />

(who can assist <strong>the</strong>m). <strong>The</strong>refore each <strong>of</strong> you should attach two or three <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m<br />

to himself." Hadhrat Jaabir %!iUw says fur<strong>the</strong>r, "As a result, each one <strong>of</strong> us who<br />
