Hadhrat Safwaan ?ZWW <strong>the</strong>n returned and reached Rasulullaah &%% as he was<br />

busy leading <strong>the</strong> Asr salaah in <strong>the</strong> Masjidul Haraam. While <strong>the</strong> two stood waiting,<br />

Hadhrat Safwaan ~ , G aske'd, W "How many salaahs do <strong>the</strong> Muslims perform<br />

each day and hight." When Hadhrat Umayr B%i% informed him that <strong>the</strong>y<br />

performed five salaahs daily, he asked, "Is Muhammad t!?i?& leading <strong>the</strong>m in<br />

salaah?" "Yes," came <strong>the</strong> reply.<br />

When Rasulullaah @&! said <strong>the</strong> Salaam (to end <strong>the</strong> salaah), Hadhrat Safwaan<br />

!3%Wj called out, "0 Muhammad! Umayr bin Wahab has brought me here with<br />

your shawl and says that you have asked me to come to you. He says that it<br />

would be best if I accept Islaam willingly o<strong>the</strong>rwise you shall allow me two<br />

month's grace." Rasulullaah &%% said, "Dismount, 0 Abu Wahab." "By Allaah!"<br />

exclaimed Hadhrat Safwaan %%@!G, "I shall never disinount until you verify this<br />

for me." Rasulullaah @&! said, "In fact, you may have a grace period <strong>of</strong> four<br />

months." Hadhrat Safwaan ~ , G M <strong>the</strong>n dismounted.<br />

Hadhrat Safwaan %$%@= Marches with Rasul'ullaah<br />

@@ Against <strong>the</strong> Hawaazin Tribe and Accepts<br />

Maam.<br />

When Rasulullaah @&$ marched against <strong>the</strong> Hawaazin tribe, Hadhrat Safwaan<br />

?3W%'marched with him while still a Kaafir. Rasulullaah sent someone to<br />

him to request ;hat he loan some weapons to <strong>the</strong> Muslims. Hadhrat Safwaan<br />

~,Wj sent a huhdred coats <strong>of</strong> armour toge<strong>the</strong>r with all <strong>the</strong> equipment that<br />

went with it and asked, "Shall this be taken with my permission or by force?"<br />

When Rasulullaah w toldhim that it was on loan and that it would be<br />

returned, he loaned it. According to <strong>the</strong> request <strong>of</strong> Rasulullaah w, he loaded it<br />

on his animal and took it to Hunayn. He <strong>the</strong>refore witnessed <strong>the</strong> Battles <strong>of</strong><br />

Hunayn and Taa'if. He <strong>the</strong>n accompanied Rasulullaah @?@ to Ji'irraanah.<br />

\ As Rasulullaah 4k%@ was walking amongst <strong>the</strong> booty to have a lodk at it, Hadhrat<br />

Safwaan BC5W was with him. Hadhrat Safwaan %GWj <strong>the</strong>n started looking at a<br />

valley filled with camels, goats and shepherds. Rasulullaah @@ watched his<br />

long stares at <strong>the</strong> scene and said to him, "0 Abu Wahab! Do you like this valley?"<br />

When he repiied in <strong>the</strong> affirmative, Rasulullaah @?@ said to him, "It is all yours."<br />

Hadhrat Safwaan B,GW accepted lslaam on <strong>the</strong> spot and said, "It is only be <strong>the</strong><br />

heart <strong>of</strong> a N' i that can be so generous. I testify that <strong>the</strong>re is none worthy <strong>of</strong><br />

worship but A1 ah and that Muhammad 'I%@ is Allaah's servant and Rasul."<br />

".,, Ano<strong>the</strong>r narrati' quotes from Hadhrat Safwaan ~,%&% that Rasulullaah<br />

asked him to give some weapons on loan. He said, "Are you taking it away from<br />

me by force?" Rasulullaah answered, "I wish to borrow <strong>the</strong>m and damages<br />

shall be paid back." It so happened that some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> coats <strong>of</strong> armour were<br />

destroyed. Rasulullaah t!%!$ <strong>the</strong>refore approached Hadhrat Safwaan ~ , C W to<br />

Hadhrat Aa'isha lZEX?kj as mentioned in AlBidaaya wan Nihaaya (V01.4 Pg.308).
