Hadhrat Abu Rayhaana !&&&@@j', Hadhrat Ammaar<br />

!&&$b@+ and Hadhrat Abbaad g,Eb@j' stand guard<br />

<strong>The</strong> Hadith <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Abu Rayhaana B,Gw has passed in <strong>the</strong> chapter entitled<br />

"Enduring Extreme Cold when Inviting People Towards Allaah" (I) In <strong>the</strong><br />

narration, he states, "Rasulullaah announced, 'Who will stand guard over us<br />

tonight? I shall make such a du'aa for him, <strong>the</strong> virtues <strong>of</strong> which he will certainly<br />

receive.' A man from <strong>the</strong> Ansaar stood up and volunteered. When Rasulullaah<br />

@%% asked who he was, he gave his name. Rasulullaah asked him to come<br />

closer and when he did, Rasulullaah @%$ held a part <strong>of</strong> his clothing and started<br />

making du'aa for him. When I heard <strong>the</strong> du'aa, I also volunteered. Rasulullaah<br />

@% asked me who I'was and I informed him that I was Abu Rayhaana.<br />

Rasulullaah <strong>the</strong>n made a du'aa for me that was shorter than <strong>the</strong> one he<br />

made for <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r person. <strong>The</strong>reafter, Rasulullaah @,?@ said, '<strong>The</strong> fire <strong>of</strong><br />

Jahannam has been forbidden for <strong>the</strong> eye that stands guard in <strong>the</strong> path <strong>of</strong><br />

Allaah."' 12)<br />

In <strong>the</strong> chapter entitled "Performing Salaah While Out in <strong>the</strong> path <strong>of</strong> Allaah" (3), <strong>the</strong><br />

narration is reported by Hadhrat Jaabir BG= in which it is mentioned that<br />

Rasulullaah @@$ asked, "Who shall stand guard over us tonight?" A volunteer<br />

from amongst <strong>the</strong> Muhaajireen and ano<strong>the</strong>r from amongst <strong>the</strong> Ansaar stood up<br />

and said, "We shall do so, 0 Rasulullaah w!" Rasulullaah gave <strong>the</strong>m<br />

instructions to stand guard at <strong>the</strong> mouth <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> valley. <strong>The</strong> two volunteers were<br />

Hadhrat Arnmaar bin Yaasir BGM and Hadhrat Abbaad bin Bishr %W$G. <strong>The</strong><br />

Hadith continues fur<strong>the</strong>r as already narrated. (4)<br />

Enduring Illness while in Jihaad in <strong>the</strong><br />

path <strong>of</strong> Allaah<br />

<strong>The</strong> Story <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Ubay bin Ka'b ~,Ewj and His<br />

Du'aa to be able to Endure Fever<br />

Hadhrat Abu Sa'eed Khudri SZWij narrates that Rasulullaah @@ said,<br />

"Whenever a Mu'min is hurt on his body, Allaah uses it as a means to annul some<br />

<strong>of</strong> his sins." Hadhrat Ubay bin Ka'b BGWj <strong>the</strong>n prayed, "0 Allaah! I beseech You<br />

to allow a fever to inflict <strong>the</strong> body <strong>of</strong> Ubay bin Ka'b until <strong>the</strong> day he meets you<br />

(until I die). However, it should not prevent him from salaah, fasting, Hajj, Umrah<br />

or Jihaad in Your path." A fever <strong>the</strong>n overcame him where he stood and did not<br />

leave him until he passed away. Even while suffering <strong>the</strong> fever, he was always<br />

present for salaah, observed his fasts, performed Hajj and Umrah and<br />

participated in military expeditions. (5)<br />

Hadhrat Abu Sa'eed Khudri BGm narrates that a person came to Rasulullaah<br />
