Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mu'tam %8%Wj Gives<br />

Da'wah to thk Banu Taghlib Tribe and o<strong>the</strong>rs<br />

During <strong>the</strong> Battle for Tikrit<br />

Hadhrat Muhammad NW&l&j, Hadhrat Talha ZW&Wj and o<strong>the</strong>rs narrate that<br />

during <strong>the</strong> Battle for Tikrit, <strong>the</strong> Romans saw that every <strong>of</strong>fensive <strong>the</strong>y launched<br />

against <strong>the</strong> Muslims backfired on <strong>the</strong>m and that <strong>the</strong>y were defeated every time<br />

<strong>the</strong>y clashed with <strong>the</strong> Muslims in battle. <strong>The</strong>y <strong>the</strong>refore deserted <strong>the</strong>ir leaders and<br />

loaded <strong>the</strong>ir belongings on <strong>the</strong>ir boats (to leave <strong>the</strong> area). When <strong>the</strong> spies from<br />

<strong>the</strong> (Arab-Christian) Taghlib, Iyaad and Namir tribes brought <strong>the</strong> news to (<strong>the</strong><br />

Muslim commander) Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mu'tam !?&%%, <strong>the</strong>y requested that<br />

he enter into a peace treaty with <strong>the</strong>se Arab tribes and added that <strong>the</strong>se iribes<br />

were willing to accept Islaam.<br />

Hadhrat Abdullaah !&XGZ% sent a message to <strong>the</strong>m stating, "If you people are<br />

sincere, you should testify that <strong>the</strong>re is none worthy <strong>of</strong> worship but Allaah and<br />

that Muhammad 6% is Allaah's Rasul. In addition to this, you should accept<br />

everything that Rasulullaah @%% brought from Allaah. You should <strong>the</strong>n inform us<br />

<strong>of</strong> your plan <strong>of</strong> action." <strong>The</strong> messengers went with <strong>the</strong> message and returned with<br />

news that <strong>the</strong> people had accepted Islaam. (2)<br />

Hadhrat Amr bin Al Aas %X%Wj Gives Da'wah<br />

During <strong>the</strong> Battle for Egypt<br />

Hadhrat Khaalid !BG@!% and Hadhrat ubaadah %d!3#% narrate that Hadhrat Amr<br />

bin Al Aas ?B%M marched to Egypt after Hadhrat Umar had returned to<br />

Madinah (from Shaam). Hadhrat Zubayr !@S%!&i followed him (with ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />

battalion) and <strong>the</strong> two joined up when Hadhrat Amr bin A1 Aas ?&W% reached a<br />

place called Ilyoon. <strong>The</strong>re <strong>the</strong>y were met by <strong>the</strong> chief priest <strong>of</strong> Egypt Abu Maryam<br />

who was <strong>the</strong>re with ano<strong>the</strong>r high priest and <strong>the</strong> ~gyptiai army. Maqoqis (<strong>the</strong><br />

king <strong>of</strong> Egypt) had sent <strong>the</strong>m to defend <strong>the</strong> country. When Hadhrat Amr !&IS@&<br />

arrived <strong>the</strong>re, <strong>the</strong>y immediately prepared to attack but Hadhrat Amr ?&@&% sent a<br />

message telling <strong>the</strong>m that <strong>the</strong>y should not be hasty and should first listen to <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

reason for coming, after which <strong>the</strong>y could make a decision. <strong>The</strong> Egyptians were<br />

1" <strong>the</strong>n called <strong>of</strong>f and Hadhrat Amr ?&@#% send a message stating, "I am coming<br />

forward (to talk), so send Abu Maryam and Abu Maryam should come forth. <strong>The</strong><br />

Egyptians accepted and each party guaranteed <strong>the</strong> safety <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r."<br />

Hadhrat Amr !i8S& said to <strong>the</strong> two men, "You two are senior priests <strong>of</strong> this<br />

country, so do listen. Allaah has sent Muhammad with <strong>the</strong> truth and<br />

commanded us to follow it. Muhammad @?@ has conveyed this command to us<br />

toge<strong>the</strong>r with every o<strong>the</strong>r command Allaah has issued. Muhammad @% <strong>the</strong>n<br />

passed on. May Allaah's choicest blessings and mercies be showered on him.<br />
