Configuring OneSight Compound Metric Monitors
Alert – Select the alert that you want to reference.
6. Enter a name for the reference.
7. Select the object type and complete the fields as they become
available.
8. Click OK.
9. Create as many references are you need, then click the
Expression tab.
10. Enter the expression you want to use. Refer to the following
section for a list of valid operators that can be used in the
expression. The Options list field contains the options that are
valid at the current point in the expression.
For example, if you have created the expressions monitor1,
monitorgroup1, and metric2, you could compare the status
(color) of monitor1 to monitorgroup1 and display metric2 if
they match and zero if they do not match:
(monitor1 = monitorgroup1) ? metric2 : 0
11. To verify that the monitor will work as configured, click the
Test button. The Monitor Test window provides information
about the success or failure of the test and indicates what may
be causing any problem.
12. If the test succeeds, click OK in the Add Monitor dialog box to
save these basic OneSight Compound Metric monitor settings.
You can now add this monitor to a monitor group. Refer to
Adding Monitors to a Monitor Group in Chapter 4.
