Installing OneSight
run under a domain account with privileges to access the SQL
server. In addition the OSServer.properties file must be changes as
follows to enable a trusted connection:
# use trusted connection, value: true/false
# when a trusted connection is used, UserName but
the current Windows login account will be used to
connect to database
Database.TrustedConnection = true
1. Log on, with administrative privileges, to the Windows
machine on which you’ll install OneSight. This machine will
become the OneSight Server.
2. Open Windows Explorer to the Empirix CD-ROM or the
directory where you downloaded the OneSight file and doubleclick
the OneSight .exe file.
3. Click Next when the Welcome to OneSight Setup dialog box
appears.
4. If you are using a database that has been configured with an
instance name, you may get the following message:
Setup has identified evidence of a Microsoft SQL Server install but was
unable to locate expected registry keys. This may indicate that only the
Client Tools have been installed.
You will then be asked to provide a path to osql.exe.
For SQL 2005 and 2008: Mapping a network drive will not
work. You must install SQL 2005 client tools on the
OneSight server. Client tools can be installed from the SQL
2005 installation by selecting the option to install client tools
only.
Navigate to its location. For example, C:\Program
Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn.
Click OK.
