Configuring Database Monitors
Use the options on this tab to specify how the Database monitor
will query the database.
Note: OneSight does not support multiple queries.
Query – Enter a valid database statement. For example, you can
enter the following Oracle SELECT statement:
select value from v$sysstat where statistic# = 1
If your database server supports returning a result set from a
stored procedure you can call the procedure. For example, the
following SQL Server stored procedure, present in the OneSight
database, returns a result set (not an output parameter) showing
the configured OneSight sample rate (samples/minute):
EmpirixAdmin.p_computeSampleRate
Report On – Determines the data that is returned. Select query
time to report on how long it takes the database to retrieve the
query results. Select Query result to return the actual data
retrieved by the query.
Query time – Select query time to see how long it took to
execute the query.
Good Content string – Enter the string that you want to match
in the query. If the query result does not contain this string,
an error is returned instead of the query time.
Query result – Select query result to return the actual numeric
result of the query. If the result does not contain a number,
use the Advanced button to map strings to numbers that will
be returned to OneSight. If no Perl expression or string
mapping is entered, OneSight returns the result.
Perl Expression – Enter the Perl expression for the value that
you want to match in the query result. If the query result does
not contain this value, an error is returned.
