Configuring Global Action Options
11. Enter the Machine Name on which the script will be executed.
12. Click Test to confirm that the information you entered will
create a successful action.
Note: The settings in the Global Options for this action type
must be defined before a test of this action will succeed.
13. Click OK.
Triggering an SNMP Action
The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) action type
exists to integrate the Empirix OneSight Console with other systems
or frameworks that can receive SNMP traps. The SNMP type enables
you to configure an SNMP trap so that OneSight alerts and profiles
can be sent by other systems.
To ensure proper communication, a MIB (Management Information
Base) file is provided to describe the SNMP objects used by
OneSight. This file can be copied and loaded on remote systems.
The MIB serves two important purposes:
To allows traps to be configured before they are received.
To allow you to view additional information regarding each trap
type, including a description of the alert that triggers the trap and
the priority level of the trap.
In the Action Manager, when you click SNMP in the Action Types
list, the bottom portion of the dialog box displays options for
configuring an SNMP action.
