Installing the OneSight Data Collector or Remote Agent
To install the UNIX Remote Agent on a UNIX server:
1. Navigate to the Empirix\OneSight\setup\RemoteAgents\Solaris
folder on the OneSight CD.
2. Extract the sunos_agent_setup or linux_agent_setup installer file
using the following commands.
Solaris:
Linux:
tar -xvf OneSightSolaris.tar
tar –xvf OneSightLinux.tar
tar –xvf OneSightLinuxAgent.tar
3. Copy the sunos_agent_setup or linux_agent_setup installer to the
UNIX machine using FTP or via a network drive.
4. On the UNIX machine, run the installer.
Solaris: sh sunos_agent_setup
Linux: sh linux_agent_setup
Note: You may need to change the permissions of the installer
file before it can be executed. For example:
Solaris: chmod 777 sunos_agent_setup
Linux: chmod 777 linux_agent_setup
5. When prompted, enter an installation path for the Remote
Agent. For example:
//OneSight
The installation path must be an absolute path.
Note: An installation subdirectory is created using the path you
specify. All files for the Remote Agent are installed to this
installation subdirectory. For example, //OneSight
