The Profile Manager 2. Under Available Files, the profiles in the OneSight server’s Imports folder (the default location is \Empirix\OneSight\imports) are listed. To import a profile, highlight it and click Import. The Confirm dialog box may be displayed. Following is a sample message: Use this dialog box to confirm that you want to perform the action you specified. Importing Metrics and Profiles If you are importing a profile and the metrics included in that profile, this dialog box appears when existing settings will be overwritten by the import request. Importing a metric OneSight profiles consist of a set of metrics as well as some alert and threshold settings. When you import a profile that already exists on your server, OneSight confirms that you are 502 OneSight Administrator Guide
The Profile Manager willing to replace the existing profile and the associated selected metrics. When you import a metric, the existing settings for the metric (for example, sample frequency) will be overwritten. You can change a metric’s settings in the OneSight Metric Editor. If you have not made any changes to the existing metric and profile, they may be the same as the metrics and profile you are importing. In this case, you can click OK to complete the profile import procedure. Importing a profile After being prompted about overwriting individual metrics within the existing profile, you will also be asked if you are willing to replace the existing version of the profile. Profile settings (as opposed to metric settings) include alerts and threshold settings. You can change a profile’s settings in the Profile Editor. If you have not made any changes to the existing metric and profile, they may be the same as the metrics and profile you are importing. In this case, you can click OK complete the profile import procedure. Importing a profile without importing metrics If you choose not to replace the existing metrics but you do choose to replace the profile, the imported profile will use the existing metrics but will use the imported profile’s alerts and threshold settings. 3. Select the metrics that you want to import. 4. Click OK. 5.
