Setting Up an Alert to Trigger an Action Plan
For threshold settings, use the Trigger Response if Samples Out of
Samples Crossed Threshold.
For a sample failure, use the Trigger Response if Samples Out of
Samples Failed.
For , enter the number of sample counts that must fail or cross a
threshold before OneSight triggers a response. For , enter a total
number (a count) of samples. The value of must be a number
less than or equal to .
The failures that contribute to this count can be interspersed with
successful samples. For example, if 3 of 5 samples must fail to
trigger an alert, a failure for the first, third, and fifth samples and
successful measurements for the second and fourth samples will
generate an alert.
Sampling intervals, or the rates at which information is being
gathered, are set in the Add Monitor dialog box for dedicated
monitors, and in the Metric Editor (Agents tab) for profile metrics.
Example 1 – The alert has the following settings:
Respond If: Greater Than Threshold (Notify Once)
Threshold: 25
Trigger Response if 3 Samples
Out of 4 Samples Crossed Threshold
