Advancing Levels<br />

Each occupation for a character has goals<br />

that are different, yet the same; each character advances<br />

by accomplishing goals specific to their occupation.<br />

For example, warriors generally advance<br />

by attacking foes in open combat, while wizards<br />

advance by casting spells and thereby gain more familiarity<br />

with magic. It is the player’s responsibility<br />

to keep track of what their character has done that<br />

counts toward their advancement. At the end of<br />

each gaming session, the Aedile will review the accomplishments<br />

of the characters and award points<br />

accordingly.<br />

While the goals of each occupation are different,<br />

the number of Advancement Points (AP)<br />

required to advance in level are the same regardless<br />

of occupation. On the table below, regardless of<br />

occupation a character must accumulate 1,000 AP<br />

to advance to 2 nd level, though training may be required<br />

(see Training later in this chapter).<br />
